A chance to post about VC releases that may interest a couple of users.

Heres footage of Golden Axe (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/30691.html).

I have 15 VC games at the moment, and my Wii would suck without them.
I still dont even have all of the games Im waiting for.. like Super Mario Kart, Megaman (original), Super Smash Bros, Bio-Hazard Battle, R-Type, R-Type 3.
also Im very interested into the XBLA games... only 15 days till my bro gets a credit card. <_<
my favorite VC games at the moment are Super Metroid, F-Zero X, Sin and Punishment, Splatterhouse, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Megaman 2 and Super Mario World.
theres only 1 game on that list that I dont recommend, Splatterhouse.. only I like that game, and pretty much all other people hate it.
I like it because of the gore, and its just.. funny somehow. it has this Resident Evil Survivor feeling, and I like playing all games that have that feeling.. the 3rd level is my favorite level in it.

Why dont you get the XBL Points from a shop instead? That way you get a case, too (although the new shaped ones dont hold discs :( )

Golden Axe? I thought that was out ages ago for VC... mind you its the Megadrive port which wasnt as good as the arcade original

Oh. Now its a no-no to talk about games that [were] out ages ago [, presumably], too. Let me know when youre done whining. Or, more precisely: if.

I was merely puzzled as I assumed that this topic was regarding new and/or upcoming VC releases. Golden Axe is neither, and while pretty good, is not one of the strongest downloads available. Streets of Rage 2 all the way!

Anyhoo, Sin & Punishment is definitely a title that many Wii users should look into picking up. Not only is it available for the first time in 100% localised English on the Virtual Console system, its a great little shooter made by TREASURE - the group responsible for the brilliant Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga on the Saturn and Dreamcast, respectively.

Plus, the protagonist of the game, Saki, appears in Smash Bros Brawl (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/items/assist/assist12.html) as an assist trophy.

I havent seen any virtual console games that I would like to buy for a while now. When I started this topic on the old forum there were loads of great games being ported all the time. But now, there only about one a week, and they arent great imo. The latest game that I have found to be really addictive is Star Tropics. Its like the original Zelda, but more stream-lined (story wise), with better graphics and, overall, better presented.
I have been thinking about buying Phantasy Star 2 off virtual console, though. Would anyone recommend it?

buying the good old F-Zero X would be a better idea. Sin n Punishment is good for about... 2 weeks. F-Zero X is something you can play on forever. and I mean more than 10 years.. Ive had that game on my N64 since it came out and I still play that game.

Just found this topic.
Why didn t you mention Ghosts n Goblins?
It s great. Unfortunately the difficulty is also great.
I still didn t manage to play through it, because it annoys me so much, that I can t play for long.
Nevertheless it s a real good game. And Capcom made it.

Oh, and I suppose you didn t mention any Steret Fighters is, because you thought everybody knew about them, right?

Lylat Wars is good too. I didn t buy it, however. My brother still got the original cartridge.

My favourite is at the moment Super Probotector.
It s quite hard too by the way. Nothing for people who give up after the first Game Over screen.
