Anyone remember the glorious Onimusha? Ok, its not that old, but Id honestly want to see Capcom continue this franchise as it sold better than DMC did and, in my opinion, contained a better story and enemies. Samanosuke is just ace as well, with the most awesome transformed design.

Share the love.

At least you have an Onimusha movie comin up in 2009, if thats any comfort.

Yeah, looking forward to the movie. Same director as Silent Hill, which turned out pretty game-like.

I still wish for a 5th installment though.

I have to agree, 3 was amazing and i did love DOD which i still play to this day. I hope if they do make a 5th that its multi-platform aka 360, and online play would be pretty cool

Does the secret 2 player mode in DOD actually work?

I always wanted to find out, but I could never get the cheat activated for some reason. :s

Onimusha is for me one of the best console franchises of capcom. I have all the 4 PS2 titles, for me demon seige has a great story and the time travelling moment are well implemented. Ill wait for an Onimusha 5 on the nextgen, like resident evil 5 an DMC4...

Glad to see there are fellow hardcore Onimusha fans.

The only thing I sort of disagree with people on is the multi-platform concept. I honestly wish PS3 gets this title alone so it has one exclusive series. But thats just me.

Wow fellow Onimusha fans, cool!

I actually joined up here to see if anyone had any news on an Oni 5 and if it was even going to get made :S...

As for what Birkin said:

I would like it solely on PS3 -- BUT for a different reason than to rub it in 360 owners faces :P.

The reason I would like it on PS3 is because 360 games run on DVDs because 360s cant understand HD-DVD meaning about 4.5 to 9GB of space on dual-layer discs.

BUT

PS3 is Blu-Ray which is 25GB minimum upto 50GB thats at least 2.5x more space / even sexier graphics all the way upto 5x which is phenomenal. Not to be sound like a completely blunt FPS, 360 hugging noob but... Blu-Ray For the Win!!!

4 covered the whole ridiculous, pathetic and physically painful range as far as Im concerned. I dont need more of that, especially not of any Soki-esque characters.

I sort of agree with you 777. The fact that its set in a distant future and that is not Samanosuke Im seeing, it totally threw me off. I had trouble getting through half the game but it picked up eventually. The Triangle moves were horrible and the enemies had a freakin health bar. Whats up with that?

A consequence of the rather easy to do critical moves, I assume.

Birkin

Yes, that and the fact that there are three levels of each special move. And over 50 weapons, when 3/4 of them are the same.

NO! Not only PS3! It will be good on PS2 too =) Do not say me about unreal graphik! Oni 4 shown us that PS2 can endure good graphik!
Unfortunately, Capcom nearly stopped doing PS2 games =(

If a new onimusha game did come you would have to upgrade to the new gen machines I'm afraid.

Onimusha was one of the most memorable games in the ps2. Wish it could continue on the ps3.
