I do not mean to be bold with words by saying this, but back 1997 I saw a rare Sega Saturn Japan import version on display in Leeds. That was also been sold with a special printed True Story behind Biohazard Book: That contained a couple of added pages. This special import version was been sold with book, with short supply but also sold remaining versions of games alone. What made this version so special was it contained different mode known as story mode or director s version that was printed in English on box. This was a harder version with less ammo and tougher zombies. It also had more weapons. It contains different puzzles like the director s cut for playstation, but the puzzles were different. The version also contained extended cut scenes in game and the live action FMV. I am not confusing this with the uncut resident evil intro already available, but this intro contained not only Corpse in the intro but the newspaper clipping before and all other western replaced scenes. It also had added dialogue by Chris Redfield about the cannibal killers that they have been told are in cabin in the mountains and holding four families hostage by hillbillies. It also contains new produced scenes that were just shot for the Sega Saturn version and was released in this limited version. They were also a lot of fan fiction for the game released that very day. The game disc for limited version looks the same, so it is hard to tell them apart except for the no Sega copyright on the silver part. Theirs Virgin interactive Copyright and Capcom Entertainment Ltd & Gameone written on disc. These logo are also on the Japanese videogame when it loads up - the screen is black for 4 seconds then you get a special joint three dimensional logo that spins with the regular capcom music at appear on the capon logo when it appears.

I am not making any of this up, I saw all this on the 31/7/97, but I know it is a lot to grasp, so you are entitled to your own personal view on this version. I wish I bought it that day - but it sold out in one day.
 :) :!:

Maybe your right, it could have been the special book... but they could be more revealed in the special version of the game. They could be alot of secrets about the games origins in this version, it might feature extra puzzles and extended files...? You first find a broken shotgun in the dinning room with a window smashed. Maybe their is alot more too the puzzles than just solving them. Maybe it reveals also more about umbrella. Also maybe the files have been extended. The intro on this version showed Chris and the STARS been trapped near the BRAVO team wreckage. The team are ambushed by dogs within tall grass, he then finds a used shotgun that links the shotgun puzzle to the game. Chris then equips his cut-down shotgun from his holster thats attached to him. In this edition when the game starts the cut scenes, seem the same but their wearing different coloured clothing. You hear somebody Crashing through the dinning room... and then wesker or Jill ask if its Barry I died when I got to the first zombie it was alot harder too.?:)
