Hey Ive made this topic because my brother is considering buying either the ps3 or the 360.
Now the only game he wants is Pro Evolution Soccer 8 and maybe pro evo 9 if/when it comes out.
He wants to play it online too.
Ive recently lent him my 360 with several games and pro 6 is the only game he ever plays, so other big exclusive games doesnt matter to him.
So here is the question: Which would be the better console for him to get? Apparently the guy in the game shop said that pro evo 8 was extremely laggy online, has anyone played it online?
Ive told him to go for the 360 as its does what he wants and is cheaper and paying extra for something he wouldnt get much use out of is a poor choice.
Opinions wanted and appreciated?
If your brother only wants a console for Pro Evo then Id say the PS3. The game suits the pad a lot better and the Playstation Network is free. I do believe the game is laggy on both versions of the game though
I just bought a Xbox 360 Elite today with Perfect Dark Zero..
all I can say, Xbox 360 has more better games than PS3 at the moment, BUT he should buy a PS3.. you cant go wrong with better graphics, MGS4 and Tekken 6.. if someone would buy a 360 hed need to be extremely interested into shooting games. PS3 doesnt have Dead Rising, and doesnt have any games by Rare and Microsoft.. BUT PS3 will almost all the time get ports of games from 360, and it will also have more games in the future. PS3 is the right choice.

...why PDZ? :| There are far better games for the console. And why would someone need to be just into shooters to justify a 360? It has great games across pretty much all genres.
Id say 360 - its cheaper, better suited to online play and has a much stronger catalogue at present. Although if hes really only going to be playing one game he might want to base the decision entirely on which controller he prefers.

If its not about specific exclusives I suggest buying the better hardware. Thatd be the PS3. No RROD, no disc scratching, a silent disc drive, and who knows, your brother may want to watch a few Blu-Ray movies at some point.
My vote goes for PS3 [hears all my industry contacts cries nooooooooooooooooooo] but thats because I believe that itll really pay off in the longer run! PS3 has the longest legs after all. And the online feature is really solid, as opposed to the PS2 network.
Sony has started to make big profits [finally], the PS3 dev kits are reduced by 50%, which means more and more developers are going for the PS3, as well as more resources for in-house developers. -The PS3 has a far bigger library for shaders techniques and advanced scripts in general, so in time that will really show. Plus you virtually get a free BluRay player, and by the looks of it now, HD-DVD is pretty much dead. In Europe anyway.
If you want instant good games RIGHT NOW, go with the 360. If you dont mind waiting for a bit for better and bigger games, go for the PS3.
That said, any console is a good console. You really cant go wrong these days. :)

I know.. but I started with PDZ because it was on a cheap price at the game store. also, Ive wanted that game since it came out, I loved the old Perfect Dark on N64. so why NOT Perfect Dark Zero?
Id go with PS3 too, as the others have said, in spite of the present shortage of good titles if compared with the Xbox 360, it has a better outlook for the future due to its superior hardware features and soundly on line network, thats posed go on evolving strongly. Itll boast a nice line of excluvises (Resistance fall of man II, Kilzone II, MGS, Ratchet and Clank...) and supposedly is getting some AAA Xbox 360 ports later this year. As Clayonites just said PS3 has just became profitble (and may get even more in the near future as Sony implements its new shrunk blu-ray laser reader) and most analystiss sales prospect for it this year on are enthusiastic (while Xbox 360s sales is declining even when boasting titles such as Halo 3), attracting more titles, which, as the game development for the plataform evolves, will start to stand out from others plataforms in terms of graphics and other resource-comsuming features.
I do not intend to sound like a fanboy, Xbox 360 has its merits too, but as a personal opinion I preffer the PS3.
hello guys,first post here.personally id say ps3.im lucky to have both a ps3 and a 360 and im finding lately im always on the ps3.itried the dmc4 demo on both consoles and i ended up getting it for ps3.i must say it just lookes nicer and i prefer the pad.plus theres the blu ray player.its also free to play online and i honestly have no problems regarding lag an what av yer.go for ps3 mate.
