View Full Version : GRIN Is Officially Dead,
For those who don't know who GRIN are or were, they were the Team behind Capcom's Bionic Commando Ps3/360 and PC
Sad news indeed.

I guess that means no more Bionic Commando games?
Or will Capcom push it onto a new company?
That's a shame...

Either do it them selves or source it out again.
Shame love to see a 2nd.

are they out of Capcom (like Clover) or just send in other Capcom teams?

GRIN were a seperate company that managed to get the Bionic Commando License.
It's really sad. I played a few games that GRIN developed and I quite enjoyed them so seeing a company go bankrupt is always sad.

oh ok, i understand, thanks!

That's incorrect, they worked on this Bionic Commando game but did not get the license.
There is a big difference between being commissioned to develop a game and acquiring a license.

Apologies, I get it mixed up sometimes.
:( too bad. Just tried their BC and liked it.
Well, i hope all guys will find something better.
And btw, 25 persons from GRIN made an Outbreak Studio.
Good luck guys.

More room for good studios.
Ok BC was ... a bit fun, but Wanted was just crap. Hopefully the new studio will make better games.

It's always such a shame to see a company go bankrupt. I quite enjoyed BC and Wanted.
This is a shame, I quite liked Bionic Commando, despite its criticisms, I found it to be unadulterated fun that was only tacky upon taking it seriously, I think the overall feeling it intended was to be sattire on the kind of dialogue exchanged in Nintendo games...
Good luck to all the staff at GRIN.
This is really sad news! I was quite exited about how GRIN was shaping up, so I hope that all the developers gets to move onto new and exciting projects -- whether it being in other studios abroad [as there's not a whole lot of selection of studios in Sweden], freelance work, or maybe even somehow forming a new studio. Best of luck to all.
This saddens me, I enjoyed BC and BC Rearmed very much, it was very noticeable the love and dedication put in those two games.
Let's hope that the guys at Outbreak Studio have better luck. :(

GRAW 1 and GRAW 2 were also good...so, honestly, their good games far outweigh their Mediocre games (wanted wasn't terrible, it just wasn't amazing).

Incredibly disappointing news. I really enjoyed Bionic Commando ReArmed and the latest Bionic Commando (severely underrated).
I feel sorry for the likes of Ben Judd as well, who was really excited about the game's prospects at Captivate 09.

It was to be expected though. While the studio was filled with some talented people, they tried to rapidly expand a little bit too much and produced two mediocre games in response (and probably suffered for it. Terminator and Wanted, I'm looking at you).
Bionic Commando also under performed, specifically below Capcom Japan's projections so I am not surprised.
That being said, the talent at GRiN will definitely be picked up by other external studios at some point - I'm confident someone will see it.
Though there is no hiding that it is a sad time for anyone to lose their job and I extend my wishes out to their families and friends that are suffering because of it.
