Ive heard several reports that this: -

Isnt CG. It just looks really good cos the backgrounds are all pre-rendered, just like remake.

Id appreciate citations. That being said, I think it is possible that your sources are right. The previous Project Zeros did look pretty good and these pictures are heavily affected by an almost painting-like art style.
As for the last picture, Id be surprised if this was real-time.

Considering that technically, the Wii is more powerful than the generation 1 Xbox, then we have a high possibility this could be it as well.

You apparently forgot to cite your sources.
I havent tried any of them yet. Are they worth getting?

Definately. Good games. Art, style, scares, gameplay - all pretty well done, ecxeptional one could say. Unique, though. Personal taste plays a big role here. You should do some research.
I looked it up on IGN and it came back wit results for fatal frame. Is fatal frame the earlier parts of the series or is IGN just crap?

Called Project Zero in Japan and Europe its referred to as Fatal Frame in North America. The first two games were released on both PS2 and Xbox, the third one is exclusive to PS2.
Thanks for clearing that up, they certainly sound like very good games, now to track them down which isnt always easy (or cheap).

Will this just be available on the wii or will it be released on the 360 and PS3?
On IGN it has a Wii and PS3 version, they have different names however so whether they are the same game or not Im unsure.

That simply looks beautiful. I hugely loved Project Zero 2 and would DEFINATELY put some cash aside for this when its released.

Wii exclusive. And chances are itll stay that way. Nintendo is rather involved in development and publishing of the game.
Dam, now i;m going to have to buy a Wii The project zero series is one of my favourite game series, (If i had a choice between resi & PZ, id so pick PZ, there games are so much more entertaining on the horror factor)
Shame its going on the Wii though, and i hope that they have Miku in it, but i doubt it, it looks like a whole new game seperated from 1 & 3
Nobody else feel that the character depicted in those screenshots is very cute?

Yeah. Im glad that theres another game in the series. Not having it released on a powerful console is disappointing, though; as well as the Wiis controls. I hope the series doesnt get damaged by a ... Wii-specific treatment.
Shame that it doesnt look like theyll make it multi-platform, i would love PZ on the 360, why in gods mind would anyone want to put a decent horror game on the wii, i hope it doesnt sell well, then maybe they will think about making it multi-platform.
I guess the camera controls could somehow work well on the wiis controls, and it could make the gameplay more in-depth, but alas, i now have to save up for a wii, as i have to have this game, any word on a release date?
I was thinking the same thing, but this company, Tecmo is very unstable when it comes to platforms, like Konami in a way.
Silent Hills 2 and 4 were released on the Xbox, but 3 was only ever available on the PS2.
Much in the same way, Project Zero 1 and 2 were released on the Xbox, but again 3 was only available on the PS2.
This move doesnt surprise me, its strikes me as being just another Japanese games developer thats unwilling to develop for the Xbox or its successor, the Xbox 360 because theyre both manufactured by an American company, they would rather develop for a Japanese made console, such as MGS4 being PS3 exclusive, same reason.
A directors cut of project zero 3 was released on xbox, at least in America

Are you sure about that/could you cite a source, please?

I believe Dante213 was refering to either the first or second game in the series. Fatal Frame 3 is only avaliable for the Sony Playstation 2.

Im quite happy its coming to the wi.
1) Because I like the series and getting to play a PZ game on a console that can potentially provide graphics BETTER than those earlier in the series is a good thing imo.
2) The game could potentially provide a unique way of playing the game.
Sure both those points could fail and the game could be extremely bad, but then again the game could be awesome too.
So what if the 360 and ps3 could provide better graphics, Im just happy that a decent adult game is coming to the wii and so far the screen shots look very impressive.
Oh hell yes, I love this series!
Pity about it not being next gen, but Id take the Wii over no sequel at all. Also, it looks very nice regardless. If it is indeed pre-rendered then thats a first for the series.

Same here.
As for your list, Matt, 1) only applies for people who are only going to buy a Wii.

yea my bad, it was number 2, they released a directors cut on xbox

Its quite possibly not pre-rendered because of the importance of allowing a first person viewpoint - which doesnt quite work in a pre-rendered environment.
Does it really matter if the backgrounds are pre-rendered or not?
We all know that the Wii isnt a next-gen console, but I think that the Camera controls will work great with Wii-Motes.
I hope that they keep the third person view and allow us to switch to first person view when we use the Camera, movement should be free, you should be able to go anywhere and do anything, I hope its not like House of the Dead or Umbrella Chronicles where your movement is controlled for you and you can only shoot whats right in front of you.
I hope it has a good story too, Project Zero 2 has a really good story, the story in the first game however I felt was weak, I cant comment on the third game because it was only released on the PS2 and by the time I got one, it had become very difficult to find, Im still looking though.

Think. If the backgrounds are pre-rendered that means that we can see graphical quality of the pictures that were initially posted. So yes, it does.
Lastly, does Tecmo have anything to do with this game now? Or is it a joint venture between Nintendo and grasshopper manufacture inc. now?

All three are involved (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/848/848539p1.html).
As far as I can tell you still havent cited any sources for your non-CG claims, so for now Ill assume that these pictures depict CG footage.

thats true if you dont have a wii you wont be able to play it, but the point I was trying to make is that a lot of people in this topic seem to think that just because its on the wii it wont be any good and mention its not a next-gen console but at the end of the day the wii can still provide better graphics than PZ1,2 & 3. so what is wrong with that?
Actually, studying the pics I think its obvious the first two are CG/FMV, but that third picture Im almost confident that its gameplay, in 3D. The third game in the series had pretty good background graphics, and I think its possible they could improve that to what we see now on the Wii in that third picture. As good as the image looks, its not nearly as high quality as the pre-rendered images in REmake.

I think you misunderstood.
Good food (Wii version) is better than no food at all. Extraordinary food (PS3, 360 version) is better than good food. Im happy that theres food at all. Extraordinary food would be better, though.
People who are only going to buy a Wii dont have much of a choice. People who (will (also)) have a PS3/360 might prefer that kind of game.

Fair enough and Ill agree with that statement.
I do hope that the rumor is true that one of the main playable characters is Mio from PZ2, i allways wanted to know how she got on with her life after she killed/lost her sister.

I know it s kinda old news, but there s a Japanese release date, and it s kinda soon (31th July), so if anyone has the possibility to play Japanese Wii games (which I unfortunately haven t) might want to pre-order it.
http://kotaku.com/5011328/fatal-frame-iv-gets-a-release-date
The screens that are linked on this page don t look that bad too (the ones down left are probably not cg). I didn t play any of the previous titles, but I m kinda looking forward to this now.

Check the big sites, thereve been a couple of new ones around E3.
You mean you guys missed the trailers? http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36708.html
There are a couple of aspects of Project Zero (1) that I didnt like. Can anyone tell me if any of these aspects are changed in any of the sequels:
The tedious camera tasks (take a photo of a sign on a door, go look for what the picture shows and take a picture of that. Return to the door).
The slooooooow movement.
The amount of back-tracking (this could go with my first ask, but still).
Needless to say that I didnt particularly like the original, but this one looks great. Decisions, decisions.

1. Thats in all of them
2. Thats in all of them
3. Thats in all of them
But these things are essentially what make a survival horror. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Siren...they all do it really.
I guess thats true, but Project Zero seemed to do it more. The character was even slower than in any other survival horror Ive played etc.

As long as the enemies don t get too fast that s okay, isn t it?
Id rather faster movement where the enemies speed up a little too. Of course, maybe I shouldnt contribute too much to a conversation about a game I dont particularly like. Can cause negative vibes, ysee?
