I do even though the last few films have been crap.
Alien was awesome, it introduced the Xenomorph perfectly and watching as it took out the crew one by one was intense.
Aliens imo was even better as it had a hive of xenomorphs and it was exciting seeing how training marines dealt with them. It also introduced the queen and the memorable power loader vs Queen fight near the end.
Alien3 was terrible, Now showing that Xenomorphs altered depending on their hosts was a good idea but they spoilt it by only having the one, as the series had progressed from (1 xeno vs poorly armed small crew to 100s xenos vs armed soldiers) now it returned with 1 xeno and almost 0 weapons. To me it was the beginning of the end.
Alien Ressurection...clones abysmal the worst of the lot a ridicoulous story, poor characters and a new xeno that looked like theyd run out of decent material.
so what d oyou guys think?

Well the first Alien movie was directed by Ridley Scott. Who directed *American Gangster* recently. At that time Alien was a fresh idea on the screen so it became a huge hit.
The Second film Aliens was directed by James Cameron. Who is overall known for his films like (Titanic,Terminator & True Lies) he knows how to amuse the audeince.
Now after the scond movie here is where the series go haywire Alien3 directed by David Fincher usually known for his films like (Se7ven,Fight Club, Panic Room,Zodiac) which are total mediocre movies. But Alien 3 was an overall success at the boxoffice & at that time the Alien storylines were getting pale and they were just stretching the characters. I think they should have left at that. But as we know studios keep cashing on the successful franchies. So in 1997 Alien : Ressurection was introduced. Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet??? Ever heard of this director no. Hes a french director particularly wellknown in France but not in Hollywood.
You see where it is going. Every director has its own point of view in directing but longning the series by adding extra content helps a little and destroys the overall view of the series. Although the franchie would be revived in the near future but it wont be anything called fresh concept. Overall the audience seems to Welcome alien movies. Although with so many monsster movies released latley I doubt that the audience will be excited to see the new Alien movie ( if ever made) again.:)
I watched Alien Resurrection in my child age and I loved it..
I dont know much about the older movies, Ive never seen the 3rd one.. but, yeah.. I like them.
I loved them all, Aliens and Alien Ressurection were my favs, the spin-offs sucked....badly
I actually think Alien Ress was the best in the series IMO, the only thing i disliked was that Ripley was dead.
the only thing i disliked was that Ripley was dead.
she died? but isnt Alien Resurrection the newest movie? she never died in that one. is there an Alien 5???
She died in 3 and was cloned for 4.
Alien is awesome. Aliens was a fun Hollywood movie. Alien 3 was just ok. Alien 4 ... hahahahhaahah!

Alien Ressurection was not a patch on Alien and Aliens, however it was a truck load better than Alien 3, which was simply dire. I liked Alien Ressurection (loved the novelisation, which was superior in every way), but Alien and Aliens will always be the better movies.

I like them. Among the best science fiction films ever.
I like how Alien: Resurrection tried somethin a lil bit different. AVP II is reportedly very bad.

I avoided mention AVP 1 and 2 because they are offensive to two of my favourite series
I think they should release a new Aliens game based on the Gears of War Engine, Its been awhile since the xenomorphs have had a good game
i never got how ripley was cloned, they say they cloned her from her blood but didnt she drown her self and the alien in liquid lead?

When she leapt the queen burst out of her chest, so some blood splatter probablly missed the lead or hit something on the way down. either that or they somehow managed to get her out before she was completely destroyed.

And you people call yourselves fans of the series :p
In Alien Deification it was explained that they obtained blood samples from Fiori 16 on ice"; as Clemens was the only doctor there, at one point for whatever reason (probably for tests) he drew and stored an unknown amount of blood from her.
omg, i feel like a moron for not figuring out that the doc drew blood to run tests on before he got eaten. Its so damn obvious its depressing.

Alien what? Never heard of that film can you explain more?
if it was just a routine blood sample it would have just been from her veins so the blood would have been pure human, the sample obtained had xeno-blood mixed in, so how would the doctor get the blood sample mixed in routine tests?

Best Alien movie was Alien 2 the return and Alien 3. the 4th part was a little bit dissapointing
Alien what? Never heard of that film can you explain more?
Hmmm.
if it was just a routine blood sample it would have just been from her veins so the blood would have been pure human
It wasnt - according to Resurrection.
the sample obtained had xeno-blood mixed in
Ya. Well, her blood contained the Aliens DNA anyhow.
so how would the doctor get the blood sample mixed in routine tests?
He didnt.
In Defic- Resurrection, their cloning of 200 year old DNA from frozen blood wasnt the best - hence the other failures. When they cloned Ripley, they didnt just clone her, they could only clone a hybrid. The DNA science is ****, but thats what the oh so illustrious Joss Whedon decided to write.

You mentioned something called Alien Deification thats what I was refering to as Ive never heard of that before.

My point here was how could Alien DNA get mixed up with Ripleys DNA before the Alien gestated? The process of the Alien bursting out before her death and landing in the liquid. if the soldiers at the end somehow however unlikely managed to salvage some of the body it would have a higher chance of resulting in mixed blood due to both Ripley and the Alien being melted.

Defic-Ressurection? is that the novel of the film or something?
Anyway keep the opinions coming as its an interesting discussion

Ya, I thought you would get it but its what most fans refer to 4 as.
My point here was how could Alien DNA get mixed up with Ripleys DNA before the Alien gestated?
Well thats the main problem. The thing with 4 is, it has wonky science that they didnt think through: basically, they thought that if they cloned Ripley from her blood then the Alien would still be inside her; this of course ridiculous, in a case like that they would only be able to clone Ripley herself. Its a big hoe in the writing, cloning science.
However, fans have theorized on how to plug this hole. We know the Alien reads from a hosts DNA in order to alter itself best for its environment (or for whatever reason); so its also possible that the Alien writes back some of its own DNA into the hosts DNA. Who knows why, but I usually theorize that the effects could be to reduce the risk of the host harming itself (and thus the unborn Alien) or to make preparations for chest-birth-ing.
Or, writing to the host DNA, could have been a hold over from the Space Jockey race - weve still only ever seen the Alien spawn of Space Jockey and Human stock. The original Alien creature may have been much, much different, and may not have done any of this DNA stuff.
if the soldiers at the end somehow however unlikely managed to salvage some of the body it would have a higher chance of resulting in mixed blood due to both Ripley and the Alien being melted.
You cant simply mix DNA together like that. Anyhow, as they say in the movie (and more explicitly in the script) the scientists cloned Ripley from blood samples that were on ice on Fury 161. Its also worth noting that this is a hold over from the original script were it was Newt that was cloned from blood samples on ice; Ripley wasnt in the movie.

thats very interesting thanks for clearing that up.
