Basically, Im gonna do a bunch of Resident Evil topics, so that there will not be thousands of help! (RE4) or Im stuck at REmake, help! topics. etc.
But; I no longer have the original, but I do have the Deadly Silence version. My speedrun on original mode with Jill (of course) is about 45minutes. (i have it writen somewhere, I might try and find it.)

RE remake = best horror yet. Better than RE4 IMO, but many wont think so...
I thought the new boss Lisa was super creepy. Kinda like a female Nemesis!
The Re-Make is one of the most atmospheric, creepy and tense games ever made. the addition of the crimson skulls was a touch o genius. it added a new element of simultaneous tactics and panic when a felled enemy would spring back to life (well, death). keeping enough items handy to burn enemies to prevent them from turning into crimson skulls added new depth to item based puzles. another example of capcoms golden touch.

I used to play the original every week. But after I got the GameCube in 2002, I just fell in instant awe with the graphics, that RE on PS1 has been ignored ever since. Even on sites like this one, I blatantly refer to the REmake instead of the Original in RE discussions, as I think they made that game more canon in the long run, with Lisa Trevor and the notes about Umbrella...
REmake was awesome but i only ever finished Jills story, i cant remeber why i would never even try Chriss, but i tell you one thing Lisa Trevor scared the s*** out of me
