Please indicate what game of the franchise youre talking about by adding MH, MHF or MHF 2... (you get the idea) your topics title. If youre talking about the entire franchise please add MHS (short for Monster Hunter series).

Do you think theyll make a Monster Hunter Freedom 3? And if so, will it be on PSP or DS :?:
Wonder if they will make a monster hunter game for ps3 :s I would love that.... b)

No thats Monster hunter 3 (tri) he was asking about the Monster hunter freedom series, the freedom comes from the fact that its on a hand held console, the series is known as monster hunter portable in japan, again for the same reason.
Well I dont know about MHF 3, but Im definately getting MHF Unite

im pretty sure Monster Hunter Portable/Freedom would have a 3rd release (at the very least, im very sure there will be a portable 3) since its such a big hit in japan (whether or not it will come to the DS as well is another issue). I just wish itd be as popular here in the western market =( i need someone to play with, and in my entire Monster Hunter carreer, i have yet to play with 3 other hunters.
well capcom sometimes does monster hunter events and if you have a ps3 then you can play unite online when it comes out in spring (so i have been told)

gasp! we do have MH events over here? @_@ (sorry i arrived in the UK only recently) omg! ill be willing to attend one definitely.
But sadly as well, i do not have a PS3 as of yet =/ so i cant play online unless i get one (or use xlink kai, which i have the dongle but for some reason i DC From the internet frequently when i try to use it).
well ive been to two (i dont think there have been many more than two...) the first was in a tent inside a games and manga/anime expo and it was awesome, got free t-shirts, played monster hunter with capcom staff, met the police guy from heroes and played street fighter 4!
the next event was in a pub and quite a few people showed up, but most of capcom staff were busy playing tatsunoko (i duuno how its spelled) vs. capcom, still a fun time was had by all.
they were both relativly recent and they should planning some for the near future but with 2 capcom games coming out and a new website they have their hand full at the moment

wish I had PS3 now... Ive not been in many multiplayer battles, the only person near me who has it has broken his memory card. To be honest hes a bit of a noob at it anyway

this may sound stupid but is this game any good? a few keep telling me to play monster hunter before and are now bugging me to buy monster hunter 3 but am also told that their is a psp version. all reviews have given the game an average of 7/10 which is good but not the best. any ideas?
if you going but a review out of 10 then 5 is average.
7 is above average score IMO
Its a very good game but very time consuming.
So if you have the time to put into it I say it is a very good game.

To give a fair evaluation, id say that if you have the time and patience to get into the unique gameplay system, You will most definitely enjoy the game, however, if you do not have the time nor the patience, then you will not really like it. I think 7/10 is a fair score if you consider both sides.
However, if you truly got into the game, id say you will rate it no less than 9/10, but if you dont really have the time to spend to truly enjoy the game, 5/10 would be the best score you might give it =P
It really all depends on whether or not you wanna give it a go. I would say it is worth it, I personally think monster hunter is one of the best games out there today (definitely in my top 3)
Not to go entirely offtopic (Though a lot of the previous posts ARE rather far from 777's original post...), I can't believe that after all of this time, this rule still exists.
Is it still enforced as heavily as it once was?

That in part depends on how much is going on, I'd say.
MHp3 was confirmed month or 2 back.
No major detals were givin on the content. Just that yes, there will be 3rd new installment.

indeed...I spend far to much time playing the many games I have rather than looking up new ones on the internet. I normally get all my info from my mate who works for game but he's got a girlfriend and thus lost time to talk to anyone else....

i was MORTIFIED when they announced it as wii exclusive! i admit, it sounds more intersecting in a practical way, but imagine how the scales of the fatalis could have shine on ps3's graphics... i can almost hear the surround sound screaming! :rolleyes:

Not quite true.
Capcom Shifted development to the Wii as it was cheaper to develope for.
