The thing about this type of argument is that we never played 1.5, in truth we dont know if it would have been better or not, only Capcom knows.

Watching a few videos and looking at images on the Internet hardly gives us a good enough foundation for basing the argument 1.5 is better than 2.

Exactly the same thing with 3.5, watch videos, look at images, decide 3.5 is better than 4, but if wed actually played 3.5, we would know, but since we havent, we dont know, were just guessing.

There are some things I wish they had kept and added to RE2. For example, a lot of the gameplay looked a step up from what RE2 is now.

The idea of teaming up with Kendo and Marvin as you attempt to escape the zombie infested precinct wouldve been a great premise. But of course, they had to reduce them to minor characters in the finished product.

What I dont understand is the dynamic nature of the game. There were several features that were removed in future versions of Resident Evil, and have gone as far as to not be included in the franchise at all. Such features include: -

1.) Blood splatters on clothes
2.) Wearing thicker clothing yielded less damage
3.) Locking a door prevented zombies passing through a room, unless there is a window also.

The only feature that has really been implemented is Number 3, which is been implemented in the Outbreak series.

Though, it must be said though, this seems to be an incredibly advanced game for its time - why were such features removed? Probably un do-able on the hardware at the time.
