I came to aconclusion today, and I just want to point it oput real quick before moving on.....here goes; Boy did 2007 ever suck.

There.....I said it. 2007 was the most over-hyped and under-delivering year in my recent memory, delivering overhyped and underperforming generic-fests like the truly terrible Bioshock, which has to go down in living memory as one of the least fun FPS games Ive ever played, with Halo 3 comiong a close second thanks to its terrible multiplayer balance and maps,Eternal Sonata (A GREAT game ruined by the disgusting self-help ending and useless dialogue.....get it if you like J-RPGs because its great in every other aspect, and a great concept- its just let down by that ending) Kane and Lynch, Need For Speed: Prostreet, Mario Galaxy, Super Smas....(OH WAIT, that game was only supposed to be released in 2007, it doesnt count! And will be awesome, Warioware:Smooth Moves and everything else for the Nintendo WII (Codename:Disappointing Estrogen Filled White Box of DooM.), Mario Party 8, Rainbox Six Vegas, PES 2008 (The Worst one Yet, complete with broken online mode.....), The Godfather, Super Paper Mario, Transformers (Worst game of the Year.) and all of the little crappy cash-in games that came out across the board (Links Crossbow Training, stand up!!!), Timeshift (Boring, bland, generic.....) and Guitar Hero 3, which finally managed to make playing a fiddly plastic controller NOT fun thanks to the crappy setlist as a whole and insane difficulty of the last tier of songs.

(Incidentally,my Games of the year were without a doubt Call of Duty 4 [Excellent plot, great weapon balance, second to none Multiplayer.], The Orange Box, Civilisation 4: Beyond the Sword, Medievil Total War 2: Kingdoms [Yes, I know, its bad when you mention 3 Expansion Packs as the best games of the year because the rest of it has been so bland!], and yes, I have to say it, because theres nothing else, and I liked it; Resi 4, Wii Edition.....and no, Im not going to go ahead and defend that decision now. :) )

So yeah, I want to ask you guys what youre looking forward to playing this year! :)

Personally, I think this is potentially one of the best years for video games in recent memory- weve got Fallout 3 (This years game of the year, I guarantee you that.) Metal Gear Solid 4 (The close second, or maybe first- well see. Im buying a PS3 just for this game), Super Smash Brothers Brawl (WII Saviour?), Army of Two, Star Wars: Force Unleashed (LOOKS AMAZING!), Starcraft 2, Silent Hill 5, Tekken 6, we Hack-N-Slashers are getting Dynasty Warriors 6, which looks set to be a giant leap forward for the series. (It would have to though.....) and of course were all getting Resident Evil 5 as well, which will not be like the old ones, but at this point, I dont care- I just want to play a new Resi game.

I cant wait. :)

I found 2007 to be extremely dull as well. There simply werent many games getting my attention. Only Mario Galaxy and even that hasnt gained my attention enough since I have never played it or even purchased it yet. Im not a fan of FPS games and dont own a 360 so Bioshock and Halo 3 I ignored anyway.

2008 is sounding like its going to be one awesome year. Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Street Fighter IV (wooo!), Tekken 6, Profressor Layton, Phoenix Wright III (Europe), Apollo Justice, Crisis Core, Castlevania X (Europe), Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Soul Calibur IV, White Knight Story (maybe), Smash Bro. Melee (probably the game I am least interested in in this list....yes, you read that correctly) and many more! I dont even need more. Those will last me plenty of time as it is. And yes, I musnt forget Fallout 3. I enjoyed the first game. Too bad I never got round to playing the second properly.

It wasnt all that bad. I mean, there were some great games that never became famous. I think Hotel Dusk was from 2007, and I seriously loved that game.
Then there was Phantom Hourglass, which while it didnt live up to the hype, it was an ok game.
There are probably others, but its late.
I do agree overall though. It wasnt the best.

In general, 2007 wasnt that hot. This year hasnt changed much, but were only into our first month, so lets just wait and see if we get an update on Resident Evil 5 and Etc this year.
