For what I believe is truly a first in our industry, DMC4 producer Kobayashi-san (also producer of Resident Evil 4, nuff said) has personally signed 100 copies of the PS3 and Xbox 360 Collector s Edition tin by hand. We are now going to reintegrate these signed tins into the game manufacturing line and randomly distribute them across the US to a number of retailers and distributors. It might not be the keys to the candy factory, but it will be a rewarding, personal touch for a few lucky DMC fans.

I will update this thread with reviews as they come in. For now, just discuss the game...generally.
These hub threads are my attempts to get as much information on a game as it updates, before they launch, in order to generate interest to users who might NOT usually be interested. Either way, in the future, I will create a thread from the games launch, and update them as we learn more information.

Spoilers can be seen in the spoiler thread, which is also stickied.

Looks like im going to have to import a DMC 4 limited edition boxset for a chance to get one of the 100 signed copies of the game then, either that or wait till they show up on Ebay, lol.

Id imagine theyd be extremely pricey once they go up on eBay. Especially considering theres only a 100 copies. Regardless of whether or not this game sells those 100 will be worth some to fanboys.

If that game sells extremely well then those 100 will be worth ALOT to some fanboys.

Quick note: Please keep ALL spoilers in the spoiler thread! Even the slightest hints of My prediction was right.. Just keep it in that single thread. DMC4 is a massively anticipated title for many of us and we do not wish to have the story spoiled by inconsiderate people. So again, please keep any kind of spoilers, even the slightest hints in the spoiler thread!

- 360 version loads faster than the PS3 due to a faster drive, though the Install for the PS3 eliminates load times.

Is that official?

Even if it is, the Install for the PS3 is mandatory, as youve pointed out. Therefore therell be no loading times for the PS3 version (which youve also pointed out). So what is the point in claiming/stating this when the 360 version has loading times (of up to 5 seconds) when the PS3 has none at all (according to you)?

Ryu Kazama

From the preview builds. PS3 version was an optional installation then, from what I know. But it is true there isnt much point to compare when one reads the disc whilst the other doesnt.

Ive just watched GamerTV and they reviewed DMC 4 as being only a 6/10. They said apart from the story and the CGI sections of the game, not much has changed from the previous games, in terms of graphics, gameplay, etc. Surely this cant be abad thing though, as the previous games, apart of DMC 2 were brilliant.

Ive seen the review in question. Although its not right to do this, I must note how terrible the guy is playing it. Oh well, Id mark it down too if I couldnt enjoy it. :d

Ive heard these reports from several sources in Japan. Its a well known fact the 360s DVD drive is a faster speed than the PS3s BD-ROM drive, its the same situation as the PS2s DVD drive, which came out early and was one of the slowest.

I hear the Install wasnt mandatory at first, and thats where these original reports came from.

Dont worry Seven - Im not attacking your beloved PS3.

Isnt this the reason why the orange boxset on the PS3 has longer loading times, because the Blu- ray drive has a slower read speed/takes longer to read the data?.

Wait, wait. I could have sworn the PS3 version when it read from the disc loaded 1 or 2 seconds faster (even though read speed compared to 360 is slower, I know). Hmm, oh well doesnt matter anymore anyway.

At first being the key words. Listing that now, in its current form, is simply nonsense. And thats precisely what Im addressing. Its not about pushing a console, its about correct information. Yours is, at best, confusing and somewhat contradicting. All people need to know is that they have to go through an installation process thatll eliminate loading times whereas the 360 version does have loading times. If you want to give them a history lesson you should probably mark it as such, and put it more clearly.
That being said one could argue about your reasons for posting this (and not changing it to date). People might think it was because of slight fanboy tendencies. Which might have been supported by your counter, or actually first strike accusations. However, I think making random accusations is something for people with a problem and I dont feel a need to go down that road.

On a sidenote, Ryu may actually have a point. So theres a chance that your somewhat nonsensial information (see above) is incorrect on top of it.

Play both demos. Neither require installs. The PS3 version takes longer to load.

With an install, the times are removed. Thats my information Im going off.

Seven, may I suggest trying both demos and then reporting on what youve noticed?

Ryu Kazama
24-01-08, 13:03
This (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8566301&publicUserId=4549175) should clear it up.

So its only a bit faster than 360 along with a fairly lengthy install.

Triple Seven

Once more.

Its not about the demo. Its about information on the final game youve provided that doesnt apply (respective parts underlined, not otherwise altered) and is, at best, confusing:

Ryus source provides differing information (as may others) - you could take that into consideration and potentially drop unconfirmed rumors or mark them as such.

Youre kidding me right?

What kind of BS Collectors Edition are you putting out for Europe? Steelcase and a B/W Artbooklet? Capcom couldve at least put in the Bonus DVD. This is just utter crap, Ill have to cancel my pre-order of the CE, get a refund, and get the standard edition.

This is really dissapointing. I mean, I do understand the higher price tag for europe due to localization but adding another 20.- CHF (Swiss Francs) for a Steel Case and a puny booklet? The US CE gets like a crapload more stuff for that money...Capcom is doing it wrong, honestly...

Haradaku

Paid 30 pounds for my Collectors edition on the 360, yes thats the steel case and I prefer the PAL case over the NTSC one any day.

So I aint so bummed about not getting a bonus DVD and the first few episodes of the crappy anime.

Too bad the manual clip broke on mine.

I hate it when a simple design error causes things like this to happen. My Halo 3 disks cracked in the middle because of the stupid design the special edition case has.

But I got asked for ID in game!?!?

Really shouldnt have shaved this morning, but still I look over 16. (I am 16 btw) which is why I hate the people in game.

special question to tenebra and chompman and capcom staff developpers Japan Europe and America... .

do we ever get an update to DMC4 on the 360 and 3 to activate the console version of legendary dark knight and turbo modes?

but here is the thing... .

can the PS3 or 360 (wasnt theoretical 360 inferior to PS3 on hardware design and what it could handle?) handle LDK and Turbo Mode and 120 FPS?

eum I hope someone give me an answer to this but... .

this is actually meant to everybody who has ever played DMC4 and especially the ones who could get all achievements in the 360 version.

maybe I am just that bad it could be but how is it technically an theoreticly possible to get an S ranking to all level in all gamemodes? also with bloody palace.

I played bloody palace with super dante and always in devil trigger because I cant understand how to achieve 99 levels without being beaten if you play witth normal dante or normal nero, I used only the streak attack from dante because I just cant defeat the enemy on another way or ways otherwise than this way, I just cant imagine myself how you could do that?

I can see it wrong but I think to achieve all the achievements which is my ultimate goal you must an hard core core core core core core core core core gamer :) to ever get this in your live.

so a question to the ones who have 1000p achievements in DMC 4 can you explain me in some way or another how did you actually did that?

also my saved game says to me that I have already played more than 102 hours!!!!!!! I am not lying fisycal game play time in DMC 4 since the first time I played it on february 8 2008 the lauchdate of the consoleversions which is more than 6 monts from the launchdate? my question is thus:

am I that BAD, is this normal or is the game just to difficult (to me maybe)? or maybe impossible from kobayashi to get all the achievements?

can somebody give me some hints or tell me maybe what I am doing wrong?

thanks for all help!
