I just completed Mass Effect 2, with the "almost perfect" ending. I only lost 1 character (Zaeed), and told The Illusive Man to shut up ^_^

Awesome game.

I'd call that the perfect ending. I want the new DLC Overlord, I hear it's pretty good.

Anyway, playing Transformers from now till Crackdown 2....period. Campaign has some very epic moments, unfortunately I can't recommend the campaign to anyone who doesn't care about Transformers or to jaded people who don't believe in Transformers or the tooth fairy. It's incredibly liner and is literally the definition a corridor shooter. The bosses are fun and have variety in classic "Capcom" way. Exploiting weak spots and what not.

A lot of the campaign feels deliciously old school, you could turn this game into a great 2D platformer and get the same amount of enjoyment. It's certainly as tough as a old school game, I played though on normal with one friend and some of the bosses are really tough and there are some particularly hard areas.

The story is as generic as you'd expect and it leans heavily on nostalgia, one chapter of the auto bot campaign is just chock full of homages and references to the 1986 film. So when it comes to co-op make sure you bring friends that are interested in transformers or have at least seen the 1986 film in recent years. It really elevates the enjoyment you'll get out of the campaign. The witty banter and quibs that the robots have with each other is a absolute treat for fans (one line in particular with Starscream stands out)

The voice acting is top notch and the redesigns of the characters are fantastic, a great mix of Bayformers and G1 Transformers. The environments are a bit lacking, Brown, Grey and purple are colours choice here. Granted they try to drop some new stuff in to the mix and there are some fantastic "wow" moments that anyone with a sense of scope and art design can appreciate. Transformers G1 is one most colorful thing to come out of the 80s and it's a shame that palette couldn't be transferred in some form here.

In the end I was satisfied with the campaign (mainly because of the awesome credits) it was a decent amount of fun, couldn't recommend it for 40 pounds though to all you solo campaign players, while it's longer then your average story mode in the shooter genre, it just lacks variety and replayability, the linear nature of the level design and lack of decent colour palette would make it a decent rental at best. If you have two buddies (who hopefully know the universal greeting) you'll easily get 20 hours out of the campaign and escalation mode.

And if you like competitive multi player, Oh boy are you in for a treat. Unlike the campaign I would recommend the multi player to anyone who is interested in class based shooters, it's just so awesome. The sheer possibilities of mixing and matching skills, abilities and classes makes it really interesting and add the solid shooting mechanics on top (it does have a learning curve to the aiming) makes extremely satisfying.

So yeah Transformers: War for cybertron gets a thumbs up from me.

No sequel for Zaeed... :P Can't say I was fond of the guy, he was more like a bit of muscle until Grunt came along, then I'd have Grunt plus whichever character was best suited to the task at hand.

I've got all the DLC but haven't played it yet, I'm building it up so I can do a second run.

Anyways, I am currently playing:

Demon's Souls - Fantastic game, I'm enjoying it a lot despite it's extremely hard and unforgiving, but there is a degree of satisfaction when killing off multiple enemies in a single sweep or defeating that one big bad guy. It plays a lot like a no nonsense RPG, and is very "western" (as in, burly men in armour fighting dragons, instead of girlish men fighting cute things) considering it came from a Japanese studio. It kinda reminds me of Kingdom Under Fire: Circle Of Doom...only...good...heh.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Progressed a lot, I'm loving the structure of the missions and the recruiting and item creation systems, it's kinda rewarding to have a nice new gun waiting and ready for the next mission. It's probably the first MGS where I've been good at hiding and have seldom killed anyone during a mission, bar people manning and guarding vehicles. I can't wait to see how the Monster Hunter stages play, taking on a rathalos with a rocket launcher and assault rifle... crazy....:D

Hey, Circle of Doom was good, I think it's so underrated.

Demon souls is also awesome, I got pissed at first because I put two hours into just to find I messed up because I accidentally hit a NPC i shouldn't have, doh. I gave it another shot though and I do enjoy it a lot, the combat is designed as such so each hit gives a great impact and landing a successful heavy strike is so satisfying.

Playing Onimusha and SMG2. Onimusha is really great and I can't believe I missed it all those years ago. SMG2 is still great and is only getting better as it goes along. I'm now on world 4 :)

I bought myself BioShock 2 (brand new £12.99!) for the 360 yesterday, but that's not the only bargain I got.

I bought myself a PRE-OWNED copy of Alan Wake for £20, and guess what I found inside? An UN-USED card for the first piece of DLC. Luck of the draw, I know, but frickin' awesome.

Making good progress in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Resident Evil: Degeneration. Recently started on No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle and A Boy and his Blob (the new one). They're all really good games.

Currently playing bayonetta. This game is designed by the same guys who created the earlier resident evil and devil may cry games. Well that's a guess, because the environments in all of these games are influenced by european architecture. It looks great, and the music is composed by RE2 composer, which is very cool.

The game is too short tough, and the main character (modeled after sarah pallin?) exhibits some erotic movements:help:, i don't like to see such stuff in videogames. But then you could say that she is trying to mimic a butterfly.

I got all 120 stars on SMG2 only to find that there's more to do. There's plenty more to look forward to guys :)
And now, on Onimusha 2, I just beat a demon version of Queen Brahne, who gave me a bit of trouble until I realised a simple forward x attack with the lightning sword makes the fight simple. That sword using demon is really annoying...he keeps making me use up my medicines; here's hoping there are a few healing items coming up

I completed Bioshock 2 last night. Not as good as the first game, but still quite good. It certainly expands on the universe...given the ending I got (Good ending, best ending possible), there may very well be a Bioshock 3...would be good if there was, and it left Rapture...could be an interesting game.

I'll be starting Alan Wake soon enough.

Started Alan Wake last night...I was very tired, so didn't really concentrate...may have lost my progress by quitting to the menu.

I'll soon find out.

5 games and a movie is what they said after the success of the first.

5 games? Interesting...perhaps they'll take it closer to the original design for the first game (and Island with a cult living on it, etc). It'll be interesting to see where the storyline goes from here.

Making slow and steady progress in MGS: PW and Demon's Souls, both are very addictive.

Finally unlocked the Monster Hunter mission in Peace Walker, and it's extremely hard... I'm gonna need a bigger gun....

And Demon's Souls is always hard, not a bad game but it is somewhat discouraging to lose 15k souls due to rushing to get them and dying a second time...

I'm a glutton for punishment it seems, I must get a really easy going game next time...

Still playing the hell out of Transformers, fantastic multiplayer game.

Over the weekend I sunk my teeth into Demon's Souls and finished the game, then started a new character and completed it again.

First play through took me 20 hours second took me 7, the strategy guide that comes with the game is crap, the walk through is garbage and it's missing a lot of silly things (like where to find grey stone) it also has you believe that the easiest way to play the game is as a magic user which is bull. I must of died about a hundred times on my first play through as magic user I think I died less then 20 times as a barbarian melee and bow user on the second play through.

I gotta say, while I did think the game was good I also think it stupidly over hyped the review scores that some of favorite magazines and websites don't match up with my own opinions, it's not as deep as people made me believe. The game can be easily broken and most deaths are either silly and cheap (like a dragon blitzing a bridge when you had no warning) or are caused my frustration and janky controls (right pad to select bow, R1 to equip and fire, L1 to free aim R3 to lock on it's like metal gear 3 all over again) and the game has one of the worst lock on's I've ever seen, the amount of times I walked across a narrow bridge, saw a enemy clicked R3 and it locks onto a flying creature and I walk off the bridge, so crappy.

It's a decent enough game though, the online features are great, blood stains, messages and PvP it's all pretty creative and the combat is really fun, making a successful hit is so satisfying and has a nice impact. Loot and items are okay but large swords seem useless and short swords was kinda all I used. I pretty much used the crescent falchion through the whole game which was a little disappointing.

I wouldn't know how to rate this game, it does so much good but it also does a lot of things wrong I doubt I'll play again (not that I play any games after 2 playthroughs) but I could see the potential for some great new game plus content. So yeah, Demon's Souls, good game but overrated in my opinion.

Currentley playing through Alan Wake for my fatbox 360 Nightmare mode trying to collect all manuscripts but also playing Red Dead Redemption.

I want to finish atleast one of those two soon cus I have many games waiting for me that I have not picked up as yet but that I have, like Galaxy Mario 2 as an example which I have not opened the box as yet :P

Would love to play my 3D dot game heroes aswell as it seems so retro and homage to first Zelda.

I have one chapter left on my left 4 dead 2 aswell

Need to play through Mass effect 2 and Finish off Dragon Age Expansion pack.

but guess my mmo World of Warcraft takes too much time to get into the other games recently or rather always.

But at the moment as said its Alan Wake.

Worth noting that, IIRC, the Guide you get with it was originally a fan project...as no official guide was released in America, the american fans started making one...and then it got put together for the UK release.

So it's an un-official-official guide...

I picked up Fable 2 again yesterday, original character...my bank topped up another 1574300 gold, so my total is now almost 6000000. I thought I found a building I didn't own, but it was just glitching and not showing the little scroll icon.

A few more things to do before I've gained 100% on the game...I'm on about 38 Gargoyles, out of 50...they're annoying.

Lost Odyssey, FINALLY! Taking it slow though. Such a depressingly sad game...

I'm guessing you just cleared disc 1?

Anyway, been playing a little Monster Hunter Tri, I'm finding it really hard to find groups to do HR40+ quests. I actually had one guy who was HR44 tell me he couldn't do a Agnaktor because he "he can't do it yet" the guy was higher rank then me and had better equipment yet he "can't do it yet" I said what are you talking about I've already killed like 5 of these then he said "sorry" and left.

Why did they have to release this game on the Wii, I know nobody that has a Wii AND likes Monster Hunter. I'm muscling through with pick up groups but so far it's not been as fun as the old PS2 days but back then I had a consistent group I'd play with and the people where so much more interesting, I remember have some great conversations with people back on in the PS2 days even with it's gimped chat box and Tri's chat box is even more gimped.

A part from that though the game is great and I would say it's the best MH game to date I just wish the community was there.

Should be going to pick up Crackdown 2 soon.

Haradaku
09-07-10, 19:27
The dreams are fantastic, best parts of the game. The actual game has some very emotional moments too.

I wish this game got more exposure, I said this when I completed it and I think it still holds: It's the best traditional JRPG this generation and the only RPGs I haven't played to completion this gen are White Knight Chronicles, tale of Vesperia and Blue Dragon.

The first disc alone makes a bigger impact then the entirety of Final Fantasy 13.

God what I wouldn't do for a sequel to Lost odyssey.

Yeah, I wish I could disagree, but FF13 was nothing compared with some of the other current RPGs out there...and even past ones.
And yeah, a Lost Odyssey sequel would be great; I'd just like them to work on the achievements a bit...collecting every treasure was a bit much, I thought.

I have a few games on right now:

The God Of War Collection - God Of War:
I have a well known dislike for God Of War, it's always credited as one of the original Hack and Slash games despite heavily ripping in to DMC. But I'll admit that my opinions back when I first got the original games have changed somewhat, I'm enjoying it for the right reasons.

MGS: Peace Walker:
Main game is finished, just mopping up parts for the extra ending and Extra Ops, I may redo some of the missions with a friend, we beat Rathalos together, it was one hell of a fight, but as I said "if a guy wearing what he just killed as a hat and using its spine as a broadsword can beat it, so can we!".

Bloody Roar 1&2:
Anyone remember teh Hyper beast fighting? It brings back some fond memories, and it may even help me improve my SSFIV skills, who knows...

Demon's Souls:
Taking a break from it, but its still around, making slow and steady progress, its somewhat hard to come up with a plan to obtain a weapon to actually beat something to beat something else with the soul obtained from the -BANG-

Wipeout HD:
I'm not big on racers, but Wipeout is an incredible experience, regardless of how good you are at actually racing, it must be tried at least once, playing zone mode to your favourite music track.

Whoops, almost forgot:

I've got so hyped over EVO that I've been playing SSFIV, helping beat the rust off poor Jarlino whose been without Xbox Live (or a decent PC) for quite some time.

I'm about 3 or 4 hours into Alan Wake so far.

It's good, but sadly doesn't live up to what they promised when they first announced the game.

No longer open world, for one thing, and effects (like weather) aren't anywhere near as fluid as they demoed all those years back.

Oh, and Lip Syncing is sooo bad...

But yeah, it's still a really interesting game, and I can't wait to see the rest of it...

Alan Wake.

The enemies remind me of that spooky hookman from RE 3.5, Which is cool. I always liked to play that game. I'm not saying AW is a good alternative to re 3.5, actually re 3.5 looked better, and it was more scary. It's only the enemies that are borrowed from that unfinished game.

The game has an ultra-chaotic atmosphere. Out of place and loud music, overused visual effects and 'angry' enemies trying to beat the hell out of you. It's too obvious that the developers are trying to scare you and look cool. Anyway, i don't like it, and will sell it when my brother finishes the game.

I'm now playing Bayonetta again for the first time in a while. Forgot just how crazy awesome this game is. Gonna get the last few trophies and Platinum this as well.

Just sell your items in FFXIII. Depending on wherre you're at sell those Credit Chips. They're not useful and have high value (for the stuff early on in the game, at least). Or, you could just finish the game and be done with it. Not exactly the best FF game to date. Or game.

A lot of Super SFIV lately. Was on it all night yesterday and wasn't even ready to go to bed...but had to, uggh!

Rayman 2 - As buggy as it ever was, but it's still as good as ever, regardless. I still prefer Rayman 3.

So...I managed to blag Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands collector's edition, brand new, for £13 on play.com

It turns up, I slot it in...2 days later I'm done.

And I have to say...it added absolutely nothing to the storyline of the SoT trilogy. It utterly failed on doing what it was inteded to do (filling in a 7 year gap in storyline by adding more and revealing stuff about the Prince...).

It was great as a platform game...the puzzling and platforming was just as intricate as Sands of Time, with great Water freezing abilities mixed in that just made some platforming sections insane...but the combat was "meh" and the storyline was just so vague.

I think it would have worked great as a standalone PoP game...but as a part of the SoT series, it failed to live up to the greatness of its elder brothers...

Now on to Dead Rising 2!

Dead Rising 2, trying to make the Tiger to be my friend. Still no luck with the steaks strategy.

A good strategy I found was to toss the steaks as it ran away, when it runs back, it'll start running, slow down, then eat the steak.

Also, you don't have to throw it, just drop it in a place between you and the tiger, it takes a good couple of minutes and a lot of patience to pull it off, it's dependant on the tiger's health too, so if she gets hurt, you'll have to leave and re-enter, and drop more steaks.

As for what I'm playing:

Halo 3 ODST and Halo: Reach, I've got a soft spot for Halo as of late for some reason, I need to satisfy my inner FPS Doug from time to time, will probably get Medal Of Honour eventually, on that note.

Sure, I've disabled the co-op (set the privacy to private) because of the reports about the keys disappear from your inventory if you join someone else co-op game, so I think the best would be wait for a fix. Not sure about Yorkshirte accents, but the first (and only) time I was in London I was coming from the airport and the subway suddenly stops, the driver says a lot of things on the microphone, but I could only understand "this shouldn't take more than 20 minutes". So I do have a problem with London accent :(

Why ? You have 3 Slots. If ur just goin for the co-op achievement, save a single player game on 1st slot, and co-op only on 2nd slot. Then u load ur solo data when ur playin solo, and co-op data when playin co-op.

Currently playing Dead Rising 2.

And I'm loving it.

It's like Dead Rising 1, but better. I've got about 10 in-game hours left before the military arive. Not sure how much longer the game lasts after that particular bit.

And, I've saved, like, 30 people...I think. I've saved loads, I know that much...compared to my pitiful 3 in DR1...

I've been playing Dead Rising 2, which is really good fun. However, I never played the first one, so the game mechanics to me takes some time getting used to.

I've also been playing Sengoku Basara, which I'm really loving. At first I felt the game was a little bit small and arcadey, but after playing it for a while there's actually a lot more to it.

Dead Rising 2 - great game. Much better than the 1st, which I didn't like all that much.
Phoenix Wright 2 - Not quite as good as the 1st, I think. Still loving it though :)
Ocarina of Time...again - Still as good as ever. Got the Water Temple next; the only part that I hate.
Last Window - again, not as good as the original, but still up there with the better DS games.
Sonic 4: Ep 1 - Love it. Almost a complete copy of some of the older game stages, but just that little bit better imo.

I've been playing a few games:

Halo: Reach - Very fun online and offline, the campaign is very polished and unique, other Halo games suffered because they used tricks from the previous games, it got old around the third attempt, but they've put together some awesome scenarios and a nice balanced set of guns and abilities.

Halo 3, ODST and Halo Wars - Motivated somewhat by Waypoint to earn some nice awards by getting achievements. Can't say I'm a diehard achievement hunter, but the promise of an ingame reward or nifty avatar award is a nice motivation, I wish more games would do this, its nice to challenge yourself for more than just prestige and a little number going up.

Super Street Fighter IV - Had a little break from it, came back for a few games, nuff said.

Fallout: New Vegas - Got it Friday morning, with Tribal and Caravan DLC. I wouldn't go as far as to say its the same as Fallout 3, but its very similar so far, the mechanics feel smoother and the weapons are nicer, but, its more of the same thus far, nothing encountered yet that sets it apart from Fallout 3, but I can't really judge it since I'm in the first few missions, I'm sure something awesome will emerge eventually while progressing, I just hope that my faith isn't misplaced...

Tried the Force Unleashed II demo last night. All I can say is WOW. The main combat isn't too different from the first game but additions like the Mind Trick really adds some hilarious depth to it. You can trick Stormtroopers in to jumping off ledges or to kill their friends (which results in a boxing match while you just stand there and watch).

What stood out most though, were the production values. My. God. Even for a demo it's one of the most impressive looking titles this generation. From the textures and animations, to the environmental affects, everything is sublime.

Regarding Vanquish, Zavvi have STILL not dispatched it. Screw it, I'm cancelling the order (really wanted to get the Limited Edition as an early birthday present to myself) and getting the Steelbook edition instead in town today. I'm fuming.

Currently playing Fallout New Vegas :)

I was a bit so so at the start but now I've got into it, excellent :D

Play couldn't get the game to my door for Friday, not pleased. I'd booked day off work so when I realised it wasn't coming I had to go to the local video store to rent it, so I was playing it on my day off and low and behold I was given the code for the Caravan Pack for free from the video store. So the code I get with my game when it arrives, yawn! I can sell on ebay:rolleyes:

I like the combat and the weapons, as I said I had to get used to changes that had been made to the game, but after that initial "oh I don't know" I encountered good strong opposition and thats when the game started proper, good stuff but its hard to kill Deathclaws when your only at Level 4, serious depletion of ammo. Opinion, Different but the same and once you're rockin & rollin, its a great game. Has music from the earlier Fallout games as well which is nice to hear, glad I played those games. I like that Cowboy Repeater, good weapon.:thumb: The game itself started me on the Hard Setting so I've just stuck with it :)

Beaten Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It was fantastic. Just finishing off Metroid: Other M, which is really fun. And I've started Vanquish, as directed by our good friend Mikami-san. Enjoying that so far.

On the handheld front, I'm playing Taiko: Drum Master DS 3 and Rhythm Paradise. Yeah, I love my music/rhythm games.

Oh, and Higurashi When They Cry: Watanagashi-hen if you're counting that as a game.

Lost Future: Finished the main game...going around finding puzzles now. Not bad, but the ending was a bit disappointing, I thought.

Phoenix Wright 2: Trying to get through the last case. Enjoying loads :)

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep still. Finally finished the game with Aqua. Did the Final Chapter thinking "Oh hey optional boss!" even though there was too much story for it to be an optional boss. Turns out it was a legit boss that still whooped me (Critical mode, rememeber).

So, now fighting the first optional boss proper. So. Annoying! One hit KO basically. A real nightmare to fight with Terra. Apparently it's ridiculously easy with Ven and even Aqua. Hopefully I can beat it today and fight the next boss...who I hear is even worse.

Out of all these games i would recommend L.A Noire it's only single player but every detail is perfect even the motion capture, and the graphics brilliant!

Good game, recommended if you like RE4 and want something a little arcade-y, best taken lightly though.

Beat Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow yesterday night.

It was enjoyable, but under any other name it wouldn't be Castlevania, the ending was way too random for my liking, and the DLC epilogue was just plain stupid. But everything else was a competent blend of action, platforming and puzzles with a decent enough mythos running through it.

Currently playing MK9, online and off, can't wait to get Kenshi tomorrow (Hoorah, Season pass!) and the free skins. I've beat it with all characters so its nice to get some fresh periodical characters with different styles.

I am currently playing Link's Awakening DX and recording a playthrough for blip.tv, which you can see over there (http://www.blip.tv/escaperoute). I've also just finished playing Space Channel 5 Part 2 on Xbox 360 and Dog's Life for PlayStation 2 backwards-compatible on PlayStation 3.

I am about to return to Dead Rising 2, to clean up some more achievements and level myself up so that the main quest line stops decimating me.

Right now I'm totally obsessed with white knight chronicles 2. Had it since day 1 and haven't put it down atall. Bought COD black ops on the same day.......... it's still sealed. Anyone else tried this yet?

You mean Black Ops?Yeah its not bad and actualy i liked the story in compare to the other ones.Eventought i don´t like the series cuz of so-called "fans" which only buy it of multiplayer.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations on the 360

Zelda: Skyword Sword on the Wii

Skyrim and Minecraft on the PC

And I'm borrowing a copy of Arkham City for the PS3, but I've not really gotten into it.

I'm playing:

Little Big Planet 2: Much better than the 1st, but I'm having loads of problems connecting to other random people. I keep getting messages like "Failed to connect to players" or the other people are setting their connections to auto-reject invites: it's a community-based game people! Don't reject invites from everyone! :p

Tales of the Abyss 3DS: Veeeery slow beginning and nowhere near as good as ToS so far. In all fairness I'm only about 3 hours in, but this is a slow opening even in JRPG standards. And that Tear is possibly the most dull character I've ever seen. The battles and music are decent though. The game's still better than most modern RPGs.
