Saw it last night and was absolutely blown away by it. I went in KNOWING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE! All I knew was that SOMETHING was attacking New York and thats it. The first time we saw it I missed it, and the first time I ever saw it was on the bridge scene.

The weird thing about this was that the monster was genuinely scary. Usually sh!t thats THAT big isnt scary, but by throwing us into the middle of it - seeing it for the first time when the characters see it for the first time, as well as seeing it HOW the characters see it made it genuinely unnerving. The way you see pieces of it (as in you dont see it, but rather just miss it and get a quick shot of its leg, for example) makes you wonder what it could look like in actuality, until the final scenes, where you do. This element of the unknown makes it scary.

In terms of tension, the movie was full of it. One scene where the missiles are going off and they get into the subway for the first time was extremely intense for me, as it was the first time we see the monsters face for a bit and you feel as if you are the one running and YOU are trying to get into the subway. The whole entire first person thing worked extremely well.

The humour was also pretty good, and well implemented in most of the scenes. The opening scenes with Marlena and Huc/Hud/Whatever were pretty funny though typical.

what? are you f***ing kidding me?
this movie was nothing.. it didnt make me nauseous anything.. maybe these people are all very poor and not healthy.. I guess its because they dont eat enough of MEAT.
I was just outside drifting like crazy with my bro and 2 buddies.. we got up to 10 circles. if this movie got them nauseous, what would happen to them if they were inside my bros car 20 minutes ago.

Actually no, I didnt. The 6 people who came with me also didnt. I guess it really depends on the individual. I guess you could say I got lucky in that I dont ever get motion sickness, car sickness, sea sick or have any fears of heights etc. =P

I watched this movie today and thought it was pretty good.

Questions *!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!*

Did Lily survive? I saw her getting taken away in a helicopter.

Did Marlena get shot in the face or did she explode? (The splash of blood was ambiguous.)

Whats your take on the ending; do you think Rob and Beth survived? (Apparently there was a muffled message in the credits... I didnt hear it.)

Cheeeeers

1.) We dont know. You do see one of them getting hitdown, but we dont know if its hers.
2.) Exploded - a side effect of the parasite bite. Watch her shadow next time.
3.) I reckon Rob did. I dont think well hear from them if we get a sequel.

Oh, and the message was Rob saying Its still alive backwards =P
