If you want to try before you buy you can find a flash based demo of Apollo Justice Ace Attorney at http://www.ace-attorney.com/aj/

As someone who has played through the game already (for age rating submissions) I can tell you its excellent, its got the same humour and gameplay as the previous Phoenix Wright games, plus there are some nice touches that make use of the capabilities of the DS. It made a train journey to Liverpool and back fly past!

Check out the demo and let me know what you think.

Ive tried out the demo and I must say I am impressed but also surprised they didnt change much of the GUI. Though I guess it wasnt quite in need of a change. I am a bit disappointed about the lack of old characters (though I wont go into detail here - people who have played the JP version or have the advance copies will know what I mean by that).

I cannot wait to play this when it finally comes out though, no doubt about that!

Another brilliant game, just like its pre-deccesors.
Honestly, I dont understand why people are so against the sudden change of main protagonist...
Though I wonder whos story line will be continued in Gyakuten Saiban 5... Apollos or Phoenixs?

Also, I encourage the further use of demos like this!
Although I already saw this part, I would love to see things like this from upcoming Capcom games for handheld consoles. ^_^

I think weve seen the last of Phoenixs story as the protagonist.

Not able to embed it on these forums?

I started the trial but as soon as that person turned up, I quit. I was originally going to import the Japanese budget version but had exams. Then I thought Id wait for the PAL version since the US version came out at a bad time too. Guess I shall continue waiting *sniff*

May I ask why that person turning up made you stop? Did it make you stop cos you were like no or because you wanted to leave it for when you get the game?

well, considering the release of this, maybe you should rename these forums to ace attourney

ha hAr!

Well done =P But yeah, Ive seen a few of the Apollo Justice characters and they seem to be filling the same art design and direction as the original games - which is good IMO. Im also glad theyve bought a few old characters back - though I wont go into detail.

If you have a GBA, you can look into importing the Gyakuten Saiban series. They are the exact same games, just minus the touch screen functionality. =) Not sure if the GBA versions have Japanese/English selection though.

GBA versions are entirely Japanese. They only went English for the DS.

Well, Im already aware on what happens but the finer details Ive not read, simply because Id rather not read them from a forum. I didnt quit the mock because of Apollo, no way. He looks pretty cool. I just quit because I didnt want to spoil anything.

And yeah, Edayan did the AJ designs too. His stuff is pretty decent as most of you already know.

One of the old (still fairly new) characters returning really made me happy back when I found out. It was one of those child like moments going Yay!.

Anywho, really looking forward to playing PW3 whenever it comes out. This year is busy, busy. DMC4, Crisis Core, Professor Layton (YES!!), Castlevania X and on.
