I've never really tried writing about zombies before. Or war for that matter. And I was wondering whether anyone thinks the connection would be good. Nocturnal Stillness' Dead Serious series has aspects of war, but I was thinking about going more along the lines of 'Nazi Zombies'(so around the later half of WW2). Now my problem is, would people be interested, because while I enjoy writing, I don't usually write things I think people wouldn't want to read. I assume there are actual books out there about WW2 and zombies but I haven't seen any. I also have a name for it already :p.

And the title of this thread has also given me another idea. A collab story, by collab story I mean a story were each poster writes say a paragraph and the next person carries on and so on. I've done this before with a friend and it was rather fun. If you like the idea, please tell me and we could either do it here in the creative forum, or elsewhere if not many people are interested.

the most recent thing to combine ww2 and zombies was the latest call of duty game with its zombie mode.

Well, I mean, there was that game, hmmm.... surprised it didn't get mentioned here. ... really nobody knows what it is? (It was really fun using the editor to lock all the bosses up inside of a cage, fill the outer rim with weapons, ammo and health packs ....).

Chapter 1: Night, Darkness, Lightning, a Castle ... . A crazy Tcech Scientist poses in victory embracing his power as he gave life to it ... a dead human being.

There it lies on the iron plate, wired, and still looking good. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa!" - THUNDER - FLASH and the eyes of the ressurected corpse turn pale, white on white...

I thought about that, but really it's just a bonus mode tacked on at the end... and then improved with new levels and weapons...

But there's little back story to it and we're led to believe that either magic/an evil force is causing this or that the leap in technology(ray guns and the like) produced them, but that wouldn't explain the Helldogs.

thing is, zombie stories dont need a back story, infact its better that they dont

For any story even zombie stories, a solid back story can strengthen it.

Some do, for (a bad) example the Return of the living dead (a terrible film) had the backstory of the government creating the them as a weapon.

Dead Snow is a new film (kind of) about Nazi Zombies, and there was another one that I rented recently that was set in a bunker that had sort of metaphysical Nazi Zombies...I can't remember what it was called though.

And then there's the Wolfenstein games, which are almost pre-dominantly about Nazi Zombies.

It's quite a popular sub-genre to be perfectly honest, as Nazis are Evil, and Zombies are Evil...so a combination of the two makes a REALLY evil creature.

I'm not sure whether I'm actually leaning towards Nazi Zombies or not. I just like the idea of WW2+Zombies, I'm currently thinking 3 main characters, 2 Brits and a Jerry.

Well, unless no Nazi's get infected, then there's bound to be at least 1 Nazi Zombie in your idea...

Though, the idea of it being WW2 in general is quite cool.
