Yo.
We all know Monster Hunter 3 comes out at 1. August in Jpn.
At the E3, Nintendo announced MH3 coming out at March 2010 in the USA.
So Capcom, when do we, Europe, get MH3 ?
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G was released in March last year and this month we get Unite. That's more then a year ! Don't Edit Spike Filter Dodging tell me we get MH3 one year after Japan -_- I'm srsly Edit Spike Languge

Some Japanese notes from a meeting claim that they'll try to release it within this fiscal year. The fiscal year ends on March 2010, so that's the best date we have right now. Nothing confirmed though, I can imagine stuff like this could always change.

And do try to realize, a game like this takes a lot of translating - especially with all the additional languages European games have.

Sure, but the US get the games maybe 3-7 days before the EU gets it! And this is only one language.
Also there were patching teams for MHP2G which managed to translate almost the whole game within a few months - and they did it for free. Capcom translators get paid for their work!
Well, better later than notime.

The game is supposed to come out both in the US and Europe sometime during Capcom's fiscal year 2009, which ends on March 2010.

Is this not a little too preemptive? :p The game is a full year away and already you are complaining about a theoretical release date? I have been waiting a full five years for the return of a Monster Hunter console title to the west - so please forgive me if I find your complaints about a year long wait altogether nonsensical. ;)

Dude, I've been waiting the same time. It's like Vuze said. Nobody needs that much time to translate - especially if you get paid.

Translating all of the language for Europe typically takes around 5-6 months. Languages are also not the only differential between regions as conversion also has to be taken into account as well as publicity to maximize profits. Since when does "being paid" have anything to do with how feasible a quick turnaround is? Rushing a game may make it playable, yet it shall still be incomplete.

1. The game has to be completed by the Japanese team and shipped before they can begin to consider a Western conversion/translation.
2. Monster Hunter PS2 suffered due to a terrible publicity campaign and Capcom do not wish to find themselves in a similar position with MH3
3. Considering you are ignorant about what is actually involved in translating and conversion: do you really have any grounds for complaint other than your rash assumptions?

A year is the typical turnaround for a Japan>America>Europe game and vice versa. It is not just coincidence that smaller titles have a year's conversion period. ;)

its not just translation issues a game like monster hunter faces, though translation is a big problem as translators are not that common in japan, the "patch teams" you refer to were proberbly unemployed, non japanese and serious MH fans, its a bit different in the real world as there are rules you have to stick to and standards to be met.

im not complaining. butthe problem they see is if a english (us/eu) game is released it almost always within a month if not the same time. if it is going to be in jap. (plz corret me if i'm wrong:o)

not neccisarily true, in fact I would say the opposite holds much closer. While many big name games strive for tight release dates the majority of games take months to be released outside of japan, heck we dont even get tales of vesperia until the end of the month, look how long that took, even its more popular cousin ToS:NWO isnt comming out for another 4 months.

Sorry, Omega. I am just wishing to clarify if I read this correctly: You are curious as to why Western releases make it to Japan within a matter of months?

Well, to put it simply: they often do not. GTAIV took six-seven months to make it to Japan in spite of its monumental success around the world and I think it only needed to be translated into the most basic form of kanji. So regardless of how well known a game is and how big the company behind it - it is still going to take a considerable amount of time to convert and translate.

You must also remember that it has taken some year and three months for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite to make it to the West. A year is typically the average conversion time for Japanese titles to make it to Europe(curse us for being so multicultural.) :thumb:
