View Full Version : Who is going to buy MHU and anlready owns 2G?
Ok, 1st things 1st...
There is a LOT of people that got 2G, I got it ORIGINAL, I don't like piracy on my PSP... so, I downloaded the partial english patch to translate the major things (quests, menus, food... and other things), and, I'm going to buy MHU so I can get everything in English. The only thing that is missing in Unite is gore... seriously, I can't tell if I have hitted the Monster or not!! I don't see any blood coming out!!!
Ok, Capcom want this game to sell, but, a lot of MH fans already went to piracy and downloaded 2G a long time ago! And I ask myself if anyone will buy this game, or is it doomed to have poor sales just for the reason that Capcom takes much more than a year to port the game! (Bring Frontier and I'll worship you Capcom).
The question, even if you do own 2G (or if you don't), will you buy Unite?

1. The reason it takes so long to port a game is due to the numerous languages that need to be catered for; they also need to grant themselves enough time to widely market and publicize the game. A year really is no time at all in the gaming world.
2. I am amazed that people continue to place so much weight upon blood and gore in games. It really makes no difference at all to the game. The Japanese audience are obviously going to be able to cater for blood in a more reasonable manner than western audiences due to how common place it is within Japanese cartoons and manga. Capcom would not want to ostracize the majority of its western audience by adding in an inconsequential effect.
3. I think many of those who opted for the piratical approach shall be die-hard Monster Hunter fans(why else would they play it in Japanese?) and they shall support every Monster Hunter title that they can. Using the "long" delay as an excuse for piracy is altogether nonsensical and I say that as one who has been waiting for news of Monster Hunter 3 since the original game upon the PlayStation.
I think a more important question is: Why would you buy Monster Hunter Frontier when it is naught more than an updated Monster Hunter Dos - which is Monster Hunter Freedom 2G/Unite with lesser content?
Whats to stop people from downloading Unite? Your argument has no weight as those who did download 2G with an english patch will just download Unite, but since discussing such things is not allowed here, I mean c'mon your on Capcoms own forum, I think this discussion should be closed.
Ok, 1st things 1st
So, about the gore, I tried the Unite Demo and, without the gore, I couldn't almost see if I was hitting him or not.
Next, Frontier... This game is constantly being patched with new content, no need to say more.
About piracy, only die hard MH fans will buy this game, I HATE the piracy on PSP, it is killing the System and will kill Monster Hunter on EU and US, and I WANT MH3 here!!
About the 1 year port, Capcom was not planning to release the game in EU and US, so, a lot of ppl bought 2nd G or pirated it. No need to say more.
1 more thing, this game would do a HUGE success if Sony would Launch Ad-Hoc party over US and EU! But not seeing it happenning... until then, we use the jp version...
I am :)
I bought Monhan 2nd last year just to support the Capcom after i put hundreds of hours into the translated version on the web *i'm being honest*.
After that i imported the Matte Bronze Monster Hunter PSP Slim with another 2nd G game included.
So have 2 copies of the game now xD.
And i WILL be buying Monster Hunter Freedom Unite as soon as it hits the store :)
The demo has new maps, and the game looks much more polished and much more user friendly to play than the Japanese version which has a steep learning curve :)
Can't wait!!
I jumped too late on the MH train, but I would buy the eu version if I had an import already. Done it before with other games:)
demo has no blood or carving cause its unrated

I have preordered mine, this is my way to thank Capcom for bringing the "2G" to Europe.
I surely hope MH3 will come this year aswell.
