Dear Reader...

i've been playing the championship for a while and i noticed some poeple cheating... there's a bug in the game that has to be serouisly taken care of. during the online game play in championship mode, when people see they're losing, they just simply hold the PS button and Quit the game, in this way they avoid losing the game and the winner never gets any points, and the game says "connection lost"....
i'm a software engineer and also a street fighter lover, and i think a beautiful game such as Street Fighter MUST not have any bug, specially bugs as imporntant as this.

Cheers

I'll take it that you're an honest player, since you don't know about what happens when players do so.

The party that abruptly ends a match, loses all the points gained in that particular tournament.
Though it might not be effective during the first round, it's kinda stupid to quit, since you lose the automatic 1 GP that's added, even on losing the first round.

It's not much, but as you play, even those painful 1 GP's can turn into a high score later on.

So basically, in Championship mode, there's no merit to quitting a game before it ends, at all. ;)

This is the e-mail i got from the CAPCOM...

"Date 14 May 2009
Further to your correspondence of 12 May 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

The recent update adds a disconnection rate monitor so that people can see the percentage of games which are dropped/disconnected without completion so if people persist in disconnecting when losing, they will eventually end up with very few people to play against as a result. If you create a match you will see your disconnection rate and when joining the lobby of a custom game you can view the other players disconnection rate before starting the match."

so its all about the disconnection rate, in other words, there's no possible way to avoid this, during online play there's always a chance that the loser disconnects...
hmmmm...not good.

well, i kinda don't understand how you want to fix "bug" where there is no software problem but user one. I work in IT myself and quite understand Capcom position here. I bet here is a lot's of genuine players that have crappy broadband and still tries to play no matter what. In championship mode so far no one disconnected on me even if GP way way higher than mine. If you are competing not messing around then each fight is a lesson.
