Hello, I am the PR director for Dark Matter Games, we are a gaming studio specializing in the modification and utilization of the Source engine.

We have recently gotten approval from Capcom to create a game on the Source Engine based off of the Dino Crisis 2 story line. But there were a few caveats that we had to agree to.
We could not use the Dino Crisis name without paying royalties, and we could not re-create the original games.
But, fear not! We are currently working up a Side-Story to DC2 that will take place before, during, and after the 3rd Energy Incident, and the main story.
But, there are a few things we need YOUR help on.
1. Since we cant use the Dino Crisis name we would like YOU to come up with a new, original, name for us to use.
*In the end, the name we choose will have a character named after them in the final game.*
2. We would like to get some ideas from YOU the FANS of the series, on what you would like to see in this game. (What you enjoyed from the previous entries in the series, what new things you would like to see added, and etc.)
and
3. If any of you have any experience working with the Source Engine, please contact and apply to work with the Dark Matter Gaming team at:

Forgotten Folks.
Green Predators.
or
Green Wanderer

I liked the atmosphere. I like to see realistic environments, nature and green stuff, high mountains and wild falls.
The orginal gameplay was boring, shooting dinosaurs with shotguns and handguns is not entertaining, you can add some lethal weapons.
Since such restrictions are set, why not spend your time creating a new dino based game, bring something unique to the table, be it storyline or gameplay, instead of restricting yourselves to Dino Crisis? You're better off spending your time and effort creating something you'll own yourselves and become known for.
I Agree with Parjay.
Official games offer a canon plot, any plot-holes this game covers would be purely fan based and wont do much for fans looking for official answers, it just seems that any use of the Dino Crisis story and characters are there purely to draw attention to it, this could easily be a dinosaur based game with an original plot
This isn't an official title, and is better off moved to the "Creative" section.

How about "Crisis Adverted!" or "It's my first day (the story of a researcher who accidentally releases the first portal)"

Yes, Capcom Gave us permission to use the back story.
We have decided on a name "Edward City: Crisis".
I will keep you all updated as time goes on.

The official story is not better.

We are going to have alot of outdoor environments. Currently we are working specifically on indoor environments, and environments from the second game. We will begin work on the outdoor environments when those are done.
Also what do you mean by "lethal weapons"? As far as I know Shotguns, Pistols, Machine Guns and the like are lethal.

If you recall, the first game contained tranquilizer darts and such, meaning that the player was forced to temporarily knock-out the dinosaur instead of completely killing it, restricting time and making the player rush to get things done before they awoke.

We will be having parts where non lethal is a necessity, but you will have lethal weapons at your disposal through most of the game.

something that would be very nice would be a far cry 2 but with dinosaurs instead of black and mercenaries.
but that is not empty as far as the cry that filled dinsaurios.
and put more species of dinos as triceraptors, ranquiosaurios ie not just put carniboros to kill.

I think what he's trying to say is have some herbivores instead of just Carnivores, only problem is as they don't eat meat you would be limited to a chase scene where you are being chased by them during a stampede, which wouldn't really be fun, the only other way they could fit in would be as background material
