View Full Version : Important SF4 BUG (PS3)

Championship stats reset.

I have two PS3 consoles.
When I switch from one to another, it tells me "previous championship interrupted, you have to restart" (or something like that in French) and it brings me back to the online stats from the other console (old stats).

And it happens also with only one console. Several players had their championship stats reset with the same error message.

And we all get in-game PSN disconnexions messages from time to time while still connected.

Urgent fix required.

I have just lost 800GP in 1 second... What's the point to playing a game if my scores are reset by the end of the day ?!

I ll try to stay polite in my post because i m VERY ANGRY.

I have a similar problem. Each time i stop playing for a long time i have my GP point reset to an unknow previous version ... It already happend two times ... The message (translated from french) is the championship has not finished normally ... I lost about 4 hours of game this morning ... Fix that ASAP !!!!

Tux, that usually happens when a player decided to quit the match early.
Could be due to a dropped connection, switching of the console, etc...

Does it happen EVERY time, after you finish a match and go back to the main menu before shutting down the console?

4 days since I have even more access to replay "Can not retrieve data" and It plant the console, i have to restart the console after because i can't have any more access to the network on the game And I'm not the only what I read on other forums (eg jv.com).

Need a HotFix.

sorry for my bad english, the text in french :

depuis 4 jours j'ai meme plus acces aux replay "impossible de recuperer les données" et ça me plante la console, obligé de redemarrer sinon je n'ai plus du tout acces au reseau sur le jeu. Et je suis loin d'etre le seul de ce que j'ai lu sur d'autres forums (jv.com par exemple).

besoin d'un hotfix.

If you add the lost of GP every time you connect the game at psn, you have the same problems that have the most italian player of sf4 on ps3, we really need a fix :help::help::help:

I've got some explanations.

We think this might be happening because the Extended Save Data is not being created in the console. This would result in the GP not being displayed, but since these are stored on the server and not on the console they should not be being lost.

If you go into the online battle mode and don't have Extended Save Data you will get a message along the lines of:

“save data for this version cannot be found. Do you want to create a new save data? You will need extended save data in order to save in this version”

If you select “yes” then you will create an Extended Save Data. This will not overwrite the previous save. This will not delete your GP. It should allow your existing GP to be displayed.

Could you please try this and let me know how it goes?

Hi,

The problem seems to be related to viewing replays/rankings, or rather when leaving out of that mode back to the parent menu (Network Battle). It goes to the 'Now Loading" screen with the icon in the middle that has a clockwise animation on it and hangs there. a few seconds later a dialog box pops up advising that I have been disconnected from the Playstation Network (but I havent been, still connected via XMB in the background...) - From that point on if any championship matches are played from the time the machine is completely turned off to being turned back on wont be counted.. you'll be greeted with 'as the previous tournament match did not complete properly' and all progress made from the time you viewed replays/rankings will be lost.

For more info -> http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=188610

edit: I've also tried quitting the game, logging out of PSN and back in, firing up SF4 but the problem is still there. Only when I completely shut down the PS3 and re-boot it will it fix the problem. Of course doing this means I will get that 'as the previous tournament match did not complete properly..' message.
A tell-tale sign that something is wrong is that my disconnection percentage goes back to 0%, its generally on 1% when everythings working alright - indicating some sort of supressed error :)

“save data for this version cannot be found. Do you want to create a new save data? You will need extended save data in order to save in this version”
is not related to the GP/CP loss. I never had this message.

It seems to happen when you close the game just after your last game, as if the game did not have the time to record your score on servers.
Now I wait for 5 or 10 mins before closing the game. I did not get the GP/CP loss since then.

There is still a bug and it should be fixed.

[Edit] Forget what I jut said. I lost 100GP a few seconds ago.

Sometimes, images tells more than words...

http://www.starnab.com/var/starnab/storage/images/media/images/sf4/step3/22950-1-fre-FR/step3.jpg

However, there is some way to "counter" that bug :

- Start your game
- DO NOT GO TO NETWORK MENU
- Go to stats (ranking ?)
- Go to replays
- Pick replays until one messes and stays "cannot download data"
- Leave game via Home menu
- Restart game
You should be fine

But i'm still unable to view any replays.

Hope you'll be able to fix this soon...

Reporting this with the further details back to Japan, unfortunately it's the Golden Week, we won't hear back for a few days, I'm afraid.

has any one encounterd a problem in sf4 that when you log into network ballte (ps3) it logs in but it keeps saying that nothing found.
i then swith the console off and after trying again it works..

has any body else encountered this problem?:help:

i found thins work around and it worked 100% of the times i tried it ( 4 times )

i came across this on the gamespot forums.

here's a copy and paste

"Every night for the past 5 nights I have seen the 'you have not finished your previous tournament' message when going into Network Battle. I never ever quit the game mid-tournament, not just DC but even when I win a round and then move onto the next. I always complete the tournament (win or lose) before I switch my PS3 off.

So when I see the message I just press the HOME button and quit the game. When I load the game again I go straight to Rankings > Championship pts leaderboard. I then try to watch the first 5 replays, I usually get some crappy errors like 'unable to receive replay data' or 'the data is corrupted' but I attempt to watch 5 replays no matter whether I can view them or not.

I then go back to the main menu and go into Network Battle. At this point the game seems to freeze but after 30 secs or so a message pops up 'signed out of playstation network'. At this point I quit the game, sign out of PSN myself, sign in then launch the game.

When I try to go into network battle it works every time WITH NO LOSS OF GP."

Thanks again capcom for making us having to do this stuff :(

It seems that Capcom and Sony noticed this. They recommend to update your PS3-System to the latest firmware.
I am afraid I don't know if there is a patch for Xbox-Gamers!

dmonrage2008

ya there is a new patch for the ps3 ( 2.76 ) if i'm not wrong, still eating up gp like a charm though :S:S

so lame :(
