It’s unlikely. When asked about it by the PlayStation Blog Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono had this to say: “I actually get a lot of requests for Street Fighter Vs Mortal Kombat on my Twitter feed and elsewhere. I understand why people want it, but it’s easier said than done. Having Chun Li getting her spine ripped out, or Ryu’s head bouncing off the floor….it doesn’t necessarily match…”
But ifyou want to find out more about Infamous’ Cole being in Street Fighter x Tekken then head over to the PlayStation Blog to read the full interview!
Mark your calendars! Save the date! Don’t flipping forget! The UK Fight Clubs start this month!
The first one will be at the KO Gym East in Bethnal Green, London on 20 August, see below for the address and map. It’s going to be the first in a series of awesome events that we’re holding all over the UK where you will get to play not only a selection of the best of Capcom’s best fighting games from the past but also your first chance to play the up-coming Street Fighter x Tekken!
Legendary Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono on hand to sign your Street Fighter paraphernalia and lay down the law in matches of Street Fighter X Tekken. Doors open at 7.30pm and the first 50 people in the queue will get an extra special gift!
And we’re so not being elitist about this. It doesn’t matter if you can stand up to the likes of Ryan Hart or Zak Bennet (a couple of the UK’s best fighting game experts) because even if you’re new to fighting games then we want you there. There will be people on-hand to offer advice and tips if you’ve never played before as well! And if the prospect of being among the first in the UK to play some Street Fighter x Tekken doesn’t appeal then perhaps we can tempt you with some free food, free booze and free DJs playing free music that you can dance to, freely. Oh yeah entry is free too!
So clear your schedules and get down to:
Saturday 20th Aug 7:30pm – 1am
KO Gym East
186 The Arches
Here’s a map, the nearest Tube is Bethnal Green:
Due to the alcoholic nature of these events entry will be strictly for over-18s only. Sorry.
Here’s the full video of Ono taking on Namco’s Harada in a series of increasingly bizarre challenges, they’re mental those two!
Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono takes on Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada in a series of challenges at Comic Con, surrounded by a gaggle of Poison impersonators and there’s even some pie flinging action near the end. It’s a serious business this videogame production lark…
One of the new features of Street Fighter x Tekken is the Cross Rush which lets you use both of your chosen characters at once. But just how are you supposed to control two characters at the same time? Well you don’t really – both characters are on screen at the same time but your control switches between them as you land hits… oh here’s Seth Killian via a Gamespot video to explain it better:
Actually here’s the whole Street Fighter x Tekken panel with Yoshinori Ono from Comic Con, again from Gamespot, if you’ve got 45 minutes to spare you should definitely watch it all as it touches on Darkstalkers, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition and even speculation of an Street Fighter Alpha game!
There is still some great stuff to see including interviews with Yoshinori Ono about Street Fighter x Tekken, Ryota Niitsuma on Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Hiroyuki Kobayashi on Dragon’s Dogma, as well as all the live streaming of games you could ever handle! Check out the schedule here.
Yoshinori Ono has been doing interviews! He’s usually very chatty anyway but if you want to read what he has to say about the up coming Street Fighter X Tekken then you should head over to GamePro and Joystiq for some good quotes and answers!
Only two weeks to go until E3 and the excitement is building to near frisson levels! What’s going to be there? What will be announced? What awesome videos are going to be released? Nnggh! Can’t wait!
And Ono’s been updating his Twitter with more teasers! Like these! With captions!
And he’s dropping teaser bombs on his Twitter account such as:
Promo material for Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, and:
Some more Street Fighter X Tekken. Who is King muscle busting here? Anyway, prepare for a deluge of information when E3 hits in June!
Electronic Gaming Monthly has been going digital for a few issues now and in the latest one there is a great interview with Yoshinori Ono and Seth Killian about Street Fighter X Tekken. It’s not too heavy on the details but at this point it’s always great to read up on the development process of what will undoubtedly be one of the greatest fighting games, not to mention a monumental and epic collaboration between Capcom and Namco. You can read the interview here: EGM interviews Ono and Killian.
