Ryan Hart is one of the UK’s top Street Fighter (and probably all fighting games) players and currently he’s in Japan for a bit of practice against Japan’s best – including Daigo Umehara! Ryan has started a blog about his experiences and it’s definitely a good read, it’s over on LowLandLions.
Here’s a snippet:
“So yeah, on my first day I visited an arcade to check out the competition and the first person I see is Umehara Daigo, lol. (aka “The Beast” he is mostly known for this amazing match during the EVO 2004). I made three cards, a Guy, a Sagat and a Yun. I then went on with Guy and got 14 wins in a row straight away lol. Lost to a Sakura after that though, it doesn’t really feel like a loss when you’ve brucked them bare games before that though. At one stage I more felt like I was playing not to lose, not playing to win…”
