Kotaku – major spoilers and niceties
Feb 9th

There are a couple of posts on Kotaku that are well worth checking out. The first is a video that looks at all the rivalries in Street Fighter x Tekken – it will definitely spoil things if you want to see the story set ups and cutscenes when you get the game, but it’s good to check out just why certain characters are teaming up.

And the second is a huge review of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective which is available now for iOS. If you missed out on his instant classic when it appeared on the DS last year then now’s your chance to grab it. Here’s a little of what Kotaku has to say on it: “But Ghost Trick’s real draw is its story, and boy is it a page-turner. I have been monumentally sucked in by this game—I’ve played it every day after work, on the bus, and I regularly put in time before going to bed. I have missed bus stops multiple times simply because I’m enjoying myself so much. Take this as an endorsement: I’ve been blowing off even the highly enjoyable Resident Evil: Revelations just to play more Ghost Trick.” Pretty glowing really.

*of course we would say that, but check out the reviews Ghost Trick has been getting:
“This clever adventure game from the makers of Phoenix Wright provides one of the last great hurrahs for the Nintendo DS.” IGN Editor’s Choice – 8.5
“Ghost Trick is one of the most original and compelling puzzle-oriented adventure games to come along in recent years. Nearly every facet of the game is outstanding: the unique gameplay concept and the puzzles you solve, the great characters and dialogue, the terrific animation and visual design, and the strange mystery, full of surprising twists and shocking revelations, whose threads all come together in a memorable and rewarding conclusion.” Gamespot – 9.0
“It’s a completely fresh experience on Nintendo’s handheld, or anywhere else for that matter, and certainly not one you’ll want to skip.” Destructoid – 8.5
“The only thing that gives Ghost Trick away as being from the same creator as the Ace Attorney series is how much heart the characters have. Because of that, we’re hoping this isn’t the last we see of them.” GamesRadar – 8.0

Brought to you by the creator of the Ace Attorney series, Shu Takumi, you play as Sissel a murder victim who has lost his memory and returned as a ghost to solve the mystery of his suspicious demise.
During Sissel’s search for the truth about his suspicious demise he finds himself in a restaurant. Who has fate gathered together tonight for what could be their last meal? Can Sissel find a way to save them from this evil fate? It’s up the player to possess and manipulate items from the real world and compete against the clock to save their lives.
Using the stylus players will need to carefully choose the path for Sissel to travel, possessing objects in order to trigger the correct item that when manipulated will alter the fate of others and begin to unravel the strange truth about who Sissel is and why he was murdered.
Sissel has another unique ability which will help him on his search for the truth. He can possess corpses and rewind time to four minutes before the victim’s death. Not only this but Sissel can talk to the deceased. Surely they’ll have something important to reveal? With the help of these two amazing abilities Sissel is bound to get closer to finding out what really happened in the hours before his death, as well as being able to save the lives of others.
