Capcom goes local
Jul 19th
Hi Capcom fans, how’s it going?
My name is Neil, lifelong gamer and new Community Manager for Capcom UK. I’m really proud to be working for Capcom and I have been a fan for as long as I can remember; firing up the Atari ST to play some Bionic Commando and scouring the arcades for the latest version of Street Fighter. It’s always been an ambition of mine to work here and now I do!
Being a community manager gives me a chance to bring games and fans closer together and I will be working hard to make sure voices are heard and where possible giving fans a chance to play the games they love before anyone else.
As part of Capcom’s ongoing commitment to put fans first I would like to make you aware that there are already several pages up and running brining content to your territory just for you. Across Europe we have:

Are Umbrella Evil?
Oct 31st
Morning All
You might have seen over the weekend that there was plenty of speculation and confusion over a mention of Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City in our company reports. So for clarification we asked the nice people over at Investor Relations to explain how things work at a public company…
“Last week Capcom Japan announced that the forecast for RE ORC was being reduced from 2.5 million to 2 million. To clarify this is not because there is a lack of confidence in the title, but because the release date has moved from the previously stated winter 2011 to closer to the end of the fiscal with 2 million being the number of copies we expect to ship before the end of the fiscal.”
Don’t believe us? Think we’re just part of a conspiracy? Well see for yourself, we’ll be inviting some of you into our brand spanking new offices to play the game over the next few months…
Keep your eyes peeled for loads of new Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City assets due to drop this afternoon.

Off The Record > Dead Rising 2
Sep 12th
Videogamer has posted an interview with Jason Leigh, executive producer for Capcom Vancouver, that should clear up any questions you had about Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, such as the scale of the game, if it’s just a minor update and so on. Here’s a snippet, you can read the rest of the interview over on Videogamer:
Videogamer: When the project was revealed earlier this year, some gamers immediately assumed it would be a DLC expansion, rather than a standalone release.
Jason Leigh: Perhaps it’s understandable, I think we’ve tried as much as possible to tell people that it’s not DLC. This is a larger game than Dead Rising 2. We’ve done very little subtraction. I guess the biggest thing we’ve removed is the Terror Is Reality multiplayer game. Everything else has been additional, so the new zone, the weapons, psychos, the sandbox mode and whatever – it’s a larger game, and it couldn’t possibly be DLC.”

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be released on October 14 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The RRP is only £29.99 and if you shop around you can undoubtedly pick it up for even cheaper than that!
