Cross Over episode two
Feb 23rd
Here’s Max again with the next episode of Cross Over, his in depth look at Street fighter x Tekken. In this episode he examines the system mechanics – Cross Arts, super charges, super charge cancelling leading into a counter hit, Alpha-style counters and so on – there’s a heck of a lot of stuff going on here. But Max is on hand and explains and demonstrates everything clearly and succinctly.

The 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter begins!
Feb 21st
2012 Promises to Pack a Serious Dragon Punch with Half Million Dollars in Tournament Support and New Characters for Street Fighter X Tekken on PlayStation Vita
Today we’re revealing exciting long term plans and activities for the Street Fighter franchise, including the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken. 2012, the Year of the Dragon, marks a major milestone for one of the premier video game franchises of all time. As a way of celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter, we plan to give back to our loyal fan base by hosting numerous international tournaments honouring the series. Additionally, we will be releasing Street Fighter X Tekken which features action-packed long-term DLC support, new characters on the PS Vita and even an upcoming fighting competition reality show!

Releasing soon on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Street Fighter X Tekken is the newest addition to the Street Fighter family and will rely heavily on player feedback as a way to enhance and evolve the experience. Exciting new features and additions will be consistently introduced, allowing fans of the game to tap into a wide variety of robust Downloadable Content (DLC) options that will breathe new life into the product. The retail version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be the only disc-based version consumers will need to own and all future upgrades will come from post-launch DLC.
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter and the upcoming new product launch, Capcom is in the process of organizing a series of tournaments throughout the year in locations across the globe, providing cash and prizes totalling over $500,000. These high-stakes tournaments feature the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken game, in addition to previous titles from the highly-acclaimed Street Fighter catalogue. More details on the specific territories and tournament structure will be coming soon.

In order to provide the most intense fighting experience possible, the Street Fighter X Tekken development team is working closely with the tournament community and organizers to offer a post-launch game update that will help streamline the Gem selection process for competitive players. A customized gameplay experience is at the heart of the new game, and the innovative Gem system adds an extra level of depth and provides a pioneering way to experience fighting games.

Also joining in on the 25th Anniversary festivities, 12 new fan-favourite Street Fighter X Tekken characters have been selected to be introduced in the PS Vita system version of the game when it releases later this year. Fighting their way into the handheld world of Street Fighter X Tekken, from the Street Fighter side… Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy and Sakura will be playable and from Tekken…, Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack, Lars Alexandersson and Lei Wulong will all make their debut on the PS Vita system.

Additionally, Capcom is excited to be collaborating with iPlayWinner and Team Sp00ky to deliver the first ever fighting-game-centered internet reality show, completely LIVE. “Cross Assault” begins airing on February 22, 2012 and will feature 10 players (split between Team Street Fighter and Team Tekken) who compete for pride, fame and a grand prize of $25,000. Competing on Capcom’s next premier fighting game, Street Fighter X Tekken, players will receive strategic advice from the coaches and must work together as a team to find the most effective strategies to win team challenges, or risk elimination. Capcom is working closely with IGN to bring this innovative fighting game experience to fans everywhere. Check out crossassault.ign.com for the live stream of Cross Assault.

Street Fighter X Tekken launches in North America on March 6, 2012 and March 9, 2012 in Europe. A PC version of Street Fighter X Tekken is due for release on May 11, 2012 and the PS Vita system version is slated for this autumn. More details on the PC and PS Vita system versions will be announced in the near future.
Desk is going to rip apart Street Fight X Tekken
Feb 21st
Desk is without a doubt one of the best technicians when it comes to fighting games. We’ve featured his usually unbelievable combo videos on the blog before where he’s done incredible combos and often tried his best to break our games. So what I want to know is who’s bright idea was it to give him time with Street fighter x Tekken so he can destroy it even before it’s out? Check out the teaser trailer above for what’s to come, there’s something very interesting that Ken does towards the end so watch out for it.
To read a bit more about Street Fighter x Tekken’s more advanced mechanics check out Desk’s blog and follow our Street fighter x Tekken community manager @CapcomDawg on Twitter.
UNLEASH YOUR RAGE!
Feb 21st
As Asura’s Wrath launches across Europe this week, plus amazing DLC to come!
Europe can start yelling in anger and unleashing a hailstorm of rage this week when Asura’s Wrath launches on 24th February. The UK will have to bottle it up a little longer until 9th March, but imagine the explosion when it’s finally let out…
Asura’s Wrath is a collaboration between Capcom and Japanese developer CyberConnect2, and introduces a brand new style of gameplay that redefines the action genre, fusing Asian mythology with science fiction and delivering unprecedented levels of dynamism, drama and interaction. Play as Asura and face off against numerous enemies, including planetary sized bosses. Through a mix of range attacks and visceral close quarter action players will fill Asura’s ‘Burst Gauge’ unleashing the full force of his rage and delivering devastating attacks on those who betrayed him.
And as if that wasn’t enough we have news on the DLC packs that are headed your way – anime and Street Fighter fans should take note because the first two packs will offer a completely new artistic look taking their inspiration from the world of anime. Check out these screens, click on them to make them bigger.
These DLC packs explore what happened between episodes from the full game. What was going through Asura’s mind when he fought against his mentor Augus? Which is the right path for Yasha to follow; should he betray his friend Asura or take his side against Deus? These questions will be answered when the DLC episodes launch shortly after release.
Following this will be DLC that promises Asura’s ultimate battle where the strongest take on the angriest. The world’s greatest warriors from Street Fighter appear before Asura, challenging him to a fight and creating a DLC offering that fans won’t want to miss.
Asura’s Wrath is out now North America today, it comes to Europe on 24th February and the UK on 9th March for the Xbox 360 and PS3! Don’t forget to check out the Asura’s Wrath Facebook page and follow @AsurasWrath on Twitter.
Dragon's Dogma exclusive video!
Feb 20th

Head over to the Dragon’s Dogma Facebook page to see a really cool video that shows you just some of the more unusual things you can do in Dragon’s Dogma’s open world. It’s not all about destroying huge monsters – you can also go scrumping for apples and amuse passers by carrying a pig under your arm and then throwing it at them!
You’ll also want to check back there later today when the interactive map is launched which will give you a tour of various areas of Dragon’s Dogma. Complete with videos, screen shots, and brief explanations from some of the people who live there. Madeleine will also make a few appearances to provide a bit of a tour as well.
And while you’re here have a look at one of the Ranger’s special attacks – the Flying Din which fires an arrow that produces a deafening blare on impact stunning the target though it deals nearly no damage. The Ranger is looking like the class for me so far as he has lots of different abilities not only in terms of support but also in dealing damage!
