My name is Yahagi, and I was in charge of MT Framework-related engineering and tuning for the Dragon’s Dogma team. Prior to this, I worked on Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet Extreme Condition, Resident Evil 5, and Lost Planet 2. This time, as a member of the Dragon’s Dogma development team I was called upon to utilize my prior experience with the MT Framework and adapt it for open world use which is the foundation of this game.

In all my experience up until now, Dragon’s Dogma was the title that required the most tuning of the MT Framework system internals. One of the big differences between the game and what I had worked on prior to this was that all of those older titles were stage-based games, where all of the data for the stages would be read in during a loading screen, therefore requiring no further stage loading during the game.
