New costumes, gems, patches and more coming to Street Fighter X Tekken

Hot on the heels of its March 9 release date, SFxT is about to kick off regular updates – meant to keep the experience fresh all through the year – with a ton of free and paid DLC. There’s a whole bunch o’ content coming, so let’s break it all down…
Up first on April 3 are Swap Costumes that take the “alternate costume” DLC idea one step further – instead of merely changing a character’s appearance, these outfits cross the fashion line by dressing SF characters as Tekken characters and vice versa. See Raven dress as Guy, Cammy as King and uh, Kuma as R. Mika…(?)
Swap Costumes are available for €0.99/£0.79/80 Microsoft Points each, or if you wanna dive in for the whole assortment you can pick up the Street Fighter or Tekken collection packs for €12.99/£9.99/1040 Microsoft Points each – buying one pack brings a great saving and grabbing both even more. April 3 also brings three free colour packs, each containing four new additions to the palette for added customization options. Topping off the April 3 additions are three free new quick combos, making for a total of five pre-programmed attack patterns. While spamming these pre-set combos is tempting, don’t forget each use saps some of your Cross Gauge!
Shortly after those items arrive, look for a free tournament support title update that will add a new and faster way to select your gems from the versus screen via a dial system. For all of you up late this coming Monday, our friends over at Capcom Unity will running a live stream this coming Monday at 23.00 GMT – head over to their Twitch TV page for details. This update will also include improvements to the online sound issues discussed in Ayano-san’s earlier blog.
Looking just a few more weeks beyond the tournament support title addition, the next big wave is a massive selection of free content delivered as a title update. This includes three new Assist Gem packs and six new Boost Gem packs, which adds over 60 gems to the selection pool. This sizable infusion of new gems exponentially increases the customisation options for every player, so we should see some interesting new loadouts once the DLC arrives. To that point, we’re also tossing in three more gem slots per character in which you can save your preferred loadouts. Finally, this update comes complete with a free replay analyser as well that lets you see you and your opponent’s vital statistics during a match.
The biggest additions come soon after the PlayStation Vita version launches later this year – the 12 characters debuting on Vita will come to consoles as a €19.99/£15.99/1600 Microsoft Points bundle. I know many were worried past character pricing would push the cost of this update sky high, so I’m happy to say Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Elena, Dudley, Alisa, Bryan, Christie, Jack, Lars and Lei will not break the bank.
One additional note – the dev team is also already working on solutions to the infinite combos currently making the rounds on YouTube, and will have them patched up once these other updates are out the door:

Dragon's Dogma – meet Aelinore

The House of Biquard can trace their family line back to a cousin of Godking Leonart, the great man who, ages ago, defeated the dragon and united the entire continent. Lord Biquard currently governs the lands around Meloire as mesne lord.
The reason that Meloire has been spared from the many conflicts of the age and never invaded by other kingdoms or demesnes is due largely to the existence of the House of Biquard. Sharing the same bloodline as the military-genius Leonart, those from the House of Biquard are blessed with a similar gift and Meloirean soldiers are widely known as excellent fighters.

Dragon's Dogma – meet Elysion

It took the dragon only seconds to wipe entire nations from the map of the world. One of the nations which the dragon had utterly destroyed had been large and powerful, enough so that if not for the dragon’s attacks it may well have come out the victor of the Endless Strife. But it was not a tragedy without survivors and among those few who lived through the horrors of that attack was the son of the king, the prince of this lost country. One of his eyes, wounded in his flight from the dragon’s attack, began to fester and, before long, the pestilence would claim his life. He took his rage and regret and transmitted them to the page via ink and quill. As the racking fever and pain gripped his body, he came to one conclusion: humans deserved to be destroyed. The world and its people clearly needed to be purged by the dragon’s claws in order to be reborn anew. He titled his writings “The Testament of Hopeless Regret” . The existence of this text eventually led to the creation a continent-wide secret society named Salvation. The Testament came to be blazoned always with the mark of a single eye: the Remaining Eye. This is most likely why Salvation favors the use of the cyclops, which they call “the beasts that beckon the destruction.” More >
Jun vs Vega!

The 1000 Pounds Action Company has done it again, this time a shorter but as equally as action packed as the Ryu vs Kazuya vs Ken film from the other week. Really love the bit where it goes all Street Fighter The Movie The Game. Kind of vicious at the end though!
